Hello. The original text is "You know, if I'd gone to college I'd probably be making six figures right now... but I just don't want to be part of that corporate rat race, you know?". "Corporate rat race" does seem to fit the new translation more, while the old translation isn't accurate enough - it's more about "an endless, self-defeating, or pointless pursuit" (cr. wikipedia), not being competetive with others as "勾心斗角" suggests. Also, "内卷" is simply a sociological term that has gone popular on Chinese SNS since some time around 2018, and "大厂" is a common term that stands for corpos (especially Internet corpos), which does fit Sebastian's character, since he's probably the only programmer in the town that goes online.I can't understand why some correct translations have to be changed. Just to show off that they're the new translation team? Like this sentence on the picture replaces the correct translation with some emerging internet phrase. It doesn't fit Sebastian's character.

太感谢了,明天我整理下发上来。上一次提交还是4年前1.5更新前在贴吧里提交的,时间过去太久许多更正我都不记得了,需要重新对照英文星露谷维基查下
前面的人已经列了很多了,管godfather叫义父就对了吗?你想说什么错呢,指着稻草人叫乌鸦就对了呗,还是指着红薯叫山药就对了,别扯方言
What do you think is wrong? And what was right before? Is it right to point to a scarecrow and call it a crow or to point to a Ipomoea batatas and call it a Dioscorea polystachya?
Personal attacks on the people who point out the errors don't make the errors in the translation correct.[removed by moderator]
Hi, I don't think programmers use popular internet terms and the original article didn't use internet terms. This is a real chat not on SNS and Sebastian is not a Chinese netizen. So it's not the right word to use. Even if "勾心斗角" is not accurate enough, it should not be used as an acronym on the Internet, but can be expanded to be more specific. Players don't need unnecessary localization.Hello. Hello. I agree with you on a certain degree, and I think the localization team will consider about this as well. 这次的改动感觉好突然啊,也没个投票啥的,冷不丁的就改完了,实在是膈应人,主要还是翻译的不行I want the old Chinese font back!
I am not in purpose to against the translation group and I don’t hate the new translation because it’s not a mistake though lots of people (including me) are more comfortable with the old version. But, font is a personal choice and I didn’t say any voting before the changing, that’s the problem, what made you guys think you can make the decision for other players without a vote?
New Chinese font is more clear, that’s true, but there’s no other advantages except it’s clear. This font is ugly and strange, it’s too big and too smooth for a pixel game and always makes me feel like I am doing a reading on smartphone for elders.
Even though there might be disadvantages about the old Chinese font, it couldn’t be worse than the new one. Please give the old font back, otherwise you guys should make the new font as an option instead of just forcing everyone to accept it.
To be honest, the new font does indeed suit the vibe of Stardew Valley, but that doesn't mean it's suitable for the entire game tho. :(Hi, I've also seen many people comment that they like the new font. There tend to be more comments of dislike because people who like the new font are less likely to express their opinions explicitly, so that's not a good reason to support your opinion. Most likely you're just not used to the new font. If you really hate it, please describe of which part you dislike the font instead.
The new font is chosen because it's more round and cute, and fits the style of Stardew Valley better. The previous font is pretty blocky and unstylized, and rendered in a low resolution which leads to warped strokes.
