Stardew Story! Farmer and Penny shipped

Part 1, perspective, farmer

Dialogue in the beginning

5 years later

I am so bored of working at the joja factory. Wait, I still have the letter grandpa gave me in one of his desk drawers? I think it's time for me to open it.

*Letter*

Dear David,
If you are reading this, you must be in dire need of a change.

The same thing happened to me, long ago. I’d lost sight of what mattered most in life… real connections with other people and nature.

So I dropped everything and moved to the place I truly belong

I’ve enclosed the deed to that place. My pride and joy: Gemstone Farm. It’s located in Stardew Valley, on the southern coast. It’s the perfect place to start your new life.

That was my most precious gift of all, and now it’s yours. I know you’ll honor the family name, my boy.
Good luck.

Love, Grandpa

P.S. If Lewis is still alive say hi to the old guy for me, will ya?

*Letter finish*

Well, I guess I should head to the farm.

*Gets on bus*

“Hello! You must be David.” Says Robin

I nod, not knowing what to say to this person.

“I’m Robin, the local carpenter. Mayor Lewis sent me here to fetch you and show you the way to your new home. He's there right now, tidying things for your arrival.”

“The farm’s right over here if you’ll follow me.”

“Okay thank you, Robin.” I said to her.

“This is Gemstone Farm,” She says and then notices the look on my face, “What’s the matter? Sure it’s a bit overgrown, but there's some good soil under that mess! With a little dedication, you'll have it cleaned up in no time.”

“And here we are, your new home.”

“It's pretty cool!” I say

“Ah, the new farmer!” Says another person that came out of the house.

“Welcome! I'm Lewis, Mayor of Pelican Town.”

“Nice to meet you!” I reply but Lewis keeps going on.

“You know, everyone's been asking about you. It's not everyday that someone new moves in. It's quite a big deal!”

“Really? I wouldn't have guessed.” I said sarcastically.

“So… you're moving into your grandfather's old cottage. It's a good house… very ‘rustic’.”

“Rustic? That's one way to put it…” says Robin, “Crusty might be a little more apt, though.”

“Rude!” Says Lewis, Don't listen to her, David. She's just trying to make you more dissatisfied so that you but one of her house upgrades.”

“Okay… I'm going to head inside, I am tired after the journey. Night!” I said, hurrying inside, away from these strange people.
