Mac Help! Stardew Valley Won't Launch

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble launching Stardew Valley on my Mac (running macOS 15.4.1) (M3 chip). When I try to launch it through Steam, it crashes immediately. I checked the crash log and it shows:

Termination Reason: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 6 Abort trap: 6
...
Assertion Failed: Unsupported macOS version 15.4.1

I also tried launching Steam using Rosetta, which didn't help; it throws the same error about the macOS version being unsupported.

I don’t want to downgrade my OS, so I was wondering if anyone else is running into this problem with Stardew on macOS 15.4? Any fixes or workarounds that don’t involve rolling back the OS?

Thanks in advance!

*Edit: It also says the steam cloud is out of sync. I have over 800 hours on another device, does that have anything to do with it?

Hi, I had an issue before with syncing my game on Steam as well as the game keeps on crashing. What I did end up doing is checking the safe file on my Mac, since without the safe files, the game cannot run.

So here's what i did, which I posted from a post before:

'''
I tackle this issue by creating the said "Saves" file.
1. On the Finder app, press Cmd+Shift+G (or press "GO"> "GO TO FOLDER..."
2. On the search bar that pops up, enter "~/.config/"
3. If there's no "StardewValley" folder present there, hence you will need to create one
4. Go into the "StardewValley" folder, create a "Saves" folder

In the end, if you did everything right, you will have a "Saves" folder for Stardew Valley

To check for the folder, again press Cmd+Shift+G, enter "~/.config/StardewValley/Saves". Your farms and saves should pop up in there and your save files is created.
