Mac Game Refuses to Launch

My game refuses to launch. Every time I launch from either Steam, a desktop shortcut, or applications, it bounces on my Launchpad for a few moments than quits and I'll get a crash report where the game was aborted. I am trying to run the vanilla version of the game with no mods.

This is what ChatGPT says:

"
  • Apple removed support for running .NET 3.1 apps natively in newer versions of macOS (Sonoma, Sequoia, etc.) because .NET 3.1 is end-of-life.
  • When you try to launch, your Mac can’t find the right runtime, so you get errors like
    “The application ‘Stardew Valley.dll’ does not exist” / “No .NET SDKs were found.”
  • That’s why you’re being told to install the .NET Runtime 3.1.32 (x64, Installer) — it puts back the missing runtime that Stardew Valley needs to launch.
"

  • explain the issue (including any pattern you noticed about when it happens);
    • I have redownloaded Stardew, verified its files, relaunched Stardew, restarted Steam and Mac, asked ChatGPT, and updated Mac software all multiple times and the game refuses to launch. Every time it opens, I get a crash report that has something to do with .NET 3.1 apps (this is what ChatGPT says). I can't even get to the title screen.
  • your version number, including build number (see instructions below);
    • Cannot reach the title screen, but the Steam build ID is 16826373
  • full error text, if any (see instructions below);
    • Screenshot 2025-09-06 at 10.09.11 PM.png
  • what OS and device you are using;
    • MacBook Pro 2020 macOS Sequoia 15.6.1
