I just updated to the latest version 1.4.5.151 on my iPad Pro 12.9" running iOS 14.3, amd the fishing mini-game suddenly shrunk. Before this update it would stretch the full height of the screen, but now it's only about two-thirds as tall and it is narrower too.

This actually happened twice back to back. I'm playing multiplayer with a friend, went to go fishing, caught a few fish, then suddenly when I got another hit it was just stuck. The minigame never popped up, I could still see my item bar but no buttons worked at all. I couldn't even hit escape...

They don't end up in your inventory afterwards, but you do fish them. I ended up fishing 4 in the competition, and not enough fish bit to be able to win (only 4 vs the 5 Willy gets). Not sure if that last thing is relevant, but maybe Qi beans being in the item pool could be affecting the number...
