Who's the NPC you certanly will NEVER marry ?

Alex' reply for the golden egg though. If it's baseline value, and he's 20 when the farmer gets their first gold chicken, that means he'd consider just over 500,000 enough to retire, or twice that for iridium quality. I think he'd come to realize he was wrong about that. Though he does admit in one of his scenes that he isn't all that smart.
We'll if you give him a duck egg every day, and he never ages, than when he's 30, he might be able to retire. He just didn't account for the fact that he'll never be 30.

Well, I'm straight so I would probably never romance/marry one of the Girls. They annoy me very often with their romantic comments even if I'm married. And probably not Shane, since he stays so depressive...
But Alex is such a Sweetheart when you marry him and so easy to handle, just give him eggs and big breakfast and he is happy.

Haley is way to mean.
Haley

She's too classist for me
Literally starts off by saying I smell like dirt
Haley - First impression reminded me of some of those that bullied me, even if she does grow sweeter later on.
See, this is the thing, she does become incredibly sweet and very charitable later on. She grows immensely. I will admit that at first glance I was turned off, having experiences similar to Terdin in my young life, but Haley honestly has the best redemption arc of all the available marriage candidates.

Don't forget Shane, everyone's saying how terrible he is, and at first he is, but he gets his character growth too.

Emily, i always surprises people cause im a professional psychic, she’s the type of people/ client i will avoid 😂
abigail Sam and Sebastian, I don’t mind babysitting but it makes me feel like a sugarmommy sometimes
Mmmm Shane, him reverting back to alcohol and we have no way to help him it’s a hard watch…
My first save plus perfection run I married Maru (I was planning to marry everyone) and ended up staying with her, idk, she’s just pleasant to be around plus I have a surplus of miner treats from skull cavern 😂
Then Leah, Harvey, Elliot I’m okay with, they have their careers when I marry them so🤷‍♀️

Harvey and Alex
Alex because he's waaay to into sports for me and in my opinion, when you first meet him, he's kind of a jerk to you, and Harvey because I honestly just don't see the appeal of him. He's nice to talk to, but I don't see me marrying him unless I was trying to marry everyone.

Leah's the only one of the gals I've never had my farmer(s) marry.

Seems kinda unfair to saddle her with the farm wife life when her whole backstory is about how she doesn't want her art career to get swallowed up by "PTA meetings" and the like. But that's exactly what we're expecting her to sign up for with us. Especially if we keep running off to the skull cavern or ginger island 4-5 days a week because the TV says we're lucky, thus leaving her to deal with the cows and the chickens and the greenhouse and the horse and the kids all by herself with no time left to carve wood just like she never wanted.

More than the others it feels like we're doing her kinda dirty by marrying her. [At least with Maru she completes her main ambition before settling down with us, so we're not derailing her in the same way.]

Plus Leah is "everybody's" favorite and I just like being a little different.

Definitely won't say she's everyone's favourite. But yeah it is true Leah is better of single.

I don't get why Shane reverts to alcohol. He should stay sober if his development arc meant anything. Another reason to never marry this guy.

Indeed, a lot of people say it’s realism but if he’s really struggling to stay sober there will be some dialogue that shows or guilt or remorse?

He does have some dialogue where he says he's trying to joke about things to keep others from seeing how difficult things are for him. So, I think some of his post-marriage dialogue is said as an attempt to goad the farmer. He also mentions being grateful for the things the farmer does, which I think includes keeping him on the straight and narrow. I kinda like the "Papa Shane reporting for duty..." after the first child is born.

I do think his spouse room should show that he's stopped trying to self-medicate his depression and anxiety rather than indicate a continuation of his earlier life. He does say he'll tidy it up, but he never does. Though he might mean he'll sweep the more easily accessible floor of the rest of the house.
Good thing I'd never be able to beat either arcade game, or I'd never get him to stop playing if I had an arcade machine in the farmhouse. Addiction-prone guy...

Oh wow thanks for that, I’ve got to admit I’ve never tried to marry Shane, it’s just…I don’t know, Shane is somebody I don’t mind lifting but just can’t view him romantically.

Which is funny cause my favorite game is cyberpunk and it is definitely worse 🤣

Most saves it takes me forever to marry someone, but I usually go for Maru, I like a super calming household plus the stargazing heart scene is super cute ><

Marrying is way too much effort!
