1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Today, my farmer did a volcano run to farm cinder shards. She got dragonscale boots from a dwarf chest (the one that always spawn on floor 9). A few minutes later, she was enjoying the volcano caldera and she decided to pet one of the red monkey swimming into the lava. The monkey gave her a ??? mask. Now, she can look like someone very famous, if she wants.

Finally, she got enough cinder shards to enchant her Meowmere sword with "haymaker"!! This is perfect time because green rain day should occur soon, so my farmer will be able to make a lot of hays, that day!

Successful run (for once).

Been running around to gather qi beans, depleting my stash of omni geodes in the process, then picked up Qi's cuisine, and now the prismatic grange quest. Cooked most of the food from home-grown ingredients, but may need to add a few hundred loaves of bread. The grange quest is easily completed for a hoarder like me and a lot better than the hungry skull cavern quest as I don't want to be chewed out for completing the quest with staircases. Not sure if I'll be able to complete the Qi crop quest, even if I've managed every time so far.

One more day left of the night market, and Grandpa's evaluation sneaks closer. However, I've already claimed the final mastery, so some of the things he'll say will feel a bit off.

Fell asleep at the edge of the bed the night before turning off the game for the night.

I would get lost in such a big farm house! So many fridges, what are you holding in those?
My fridges are categorized by a lot of different factors.

Fridge Year 6 Winter 9.jpg

This one is for the following:

1. coffee for triple shot espressos
2. fish that I will use for maki rolls and sashimi (I want for nothing in terms of money, so what do I care about throwing money away there; I like to imagine making more exotic variants of the dishes this way)
3. finished dishes I actually haven't gotten around to using or giving away, some dishes I keep for future cooking like complete breakfasts.
4. a "chef's uniform" of sorts

Fridge 2 Year 6 Winter 9.jpg

This fridge is for the following:

1. artisan ingredients
2. forageables in unique locations and winter roots
3. animal products
4. wines for future aging

Fridge 3 Year 6 Winter 9.jpg

Cookable flowers

Fridge 4 Year 6 Winter 9.jpg

All fruits in this one

Fridge 5 Year 6 Winter 9.jpg

Spring crops and forageables

Fridge 6 Year 6 Winter 9.jpg

Summer crops and forageables

Fridge 7 Year 6 Winter 9.jpg

Fall crops and forageables

Fridge 8 Year 6 Winter 9.jpg

Crab pot marine ingredients

Fridge 9 Year 6 Winter 9.jpg

Finally, marine ingredients caught by fishing rods, some of which come from a few of my fish ponds that I keep for this purpose: these being sea cucumbers, flounders, midnight carps, squid, and crabs (the latter being because I finally felt like making Willy happy and why my previous farm picture shows his pearl on a table in front of my crab pond)

Completed Qi's cuisine and the prismatic grange. I also somehow completed the Extended Family with two extra Legend II, despite not catching any of them on what remained of the first day, and the last day of it being the Feast of the Winter Star. Went down to the forest to catch Glacierfish jr after the festival ended. The Qi fruit quest seems like I'll pull through even if I kind of despaired about it in week 3. Now I'll have to build a few fish ponds for the Legend IIs. Contemplating putting a sturgeon in the first of them for a while, until I can make 1-2 units of caviar.

Went to Skull Cavern on a day when the predictor said there was a decent possibility of early prehistoric floors, and got a prehistoric floor with pepper rex on one of the 3 I was able to reach, and one of them dropped a dinosaur egg. Got home a bit too late to put it in the incubator that night, so it went in the next morning.

The raccoons want a rusty spoon as part of their 6th request. Have been looking for one in town all winter, but it "shines with its absence" to translate a Swedish saying. :hmph:Then again, I'll have to trade for artifact troves to get some of the other artifacts for the museum so I might get one there. The stack of omni geodes got depleted when I was scrounging for Qi beans, so the trader and the raccoons have had to wait.

Funny, there is literally the same saying in French.

When searching for a specific artifacts, artifact troves seem indeed the faster path (treasure totems might help also).

So there is in German, too. 😇
It wouldn't surprise me if the Swedish one has been picked up from either of those languages. There's been a lot of influence from the continent over the centuries.

Hmm... Maybe I should try a treasure totem or two, while there's still a lot of ground they can cover.

I did use two treasure totems before Winter ended, and got the rusty spoon I needed with the second one. I brought my stack of ordinary mystery boxes on that visit, and got 26 golden mystery boxes in return. Stashed them away for later.

The 2nd of Spring was spent in the Skull Cavern since it had a possibility of shallow prehistoric floors. One of them turned out to be a treasure room instead, which wasn't all that bad even if it only gave me 2 iridium sprinklers. Didn't reach floor 100, and didn't have the staircases to do it the dirty way either. Picked up Danger in the Deep late on the 3rd, but figured I'll make a detour to the desert on Sunday, so I can get staircases to hurry down what remains of it. The 3rd was also when I finally placed the statue from Grandpa's grave, I'd picked it up late on the 2nd and then 2 am struck before I could place it.

My first ostrich has hatched, and was given a cracker that one of the dangerous monsters dropped. Second animal to get one.

Emily reminded Bobbi that the Grange was tomorrow but Bobbi forgot until her 1990s-era PDA reminds her at 10am the following day. List of what she forgot to do:

New top
New dress
New hair style
New hair color
New hat

Bobbi's Autumn Debut is looked forward to by everyone in the Town, or at least that's what Emily tells her to make her feel better about herself. Whatever, it works.

Bobbi immediately gives up on the hair as that would mean a trek through the Witch's Swamp and she gets all weepy thinking about the loss of her great friend The Henchman. Apparently he traded up to a can of Void Mayo. That's understandable.

Instead she gets to work on a selection from Sandy's shop for her top and a matching dyed dress which takes about 8 trips through the Sewing Machine before

LIGHTNING STRIKES

Bobbi's brain does a thing it usually doesn't do. It figures out a thing it once knew but had long been lost to the fog of latent memories. Now, it should have figured the thing at least 2.5 seasons prior but you know, the important part is the figuring happened, not that pesky half-year delay. Glass half full!

You can dye anything in the Sewing Machine and get the Dye Pots color chooser if you use a
Prismatic Shard as the dye. But Prismatic Shards are rare and expensive! Yeah well Bobbi reached 100% perfection, she has a stupid Cat Statue that spits them out every day.

That's 1 new dye job each day!

Farmer Bobbi's days are busy with very many fun things and now they have 1 more:

1. Buy Shirt du jour from Sandy
2. Buy matching white pants/skirt/dress from Sandy
3. Grab Haley-bane from stupid Cat Statue
4. Dye pants/skirt/dress to match new shirt!

1 new outfit per day! Bobbi now needs to see if there are ~25 free Mannequins in Emily's Shop to feature each outfit and retire the oldest as the new ones come in. This will require a rethink of the Shop layout and the Cat Statue will need to be moved in as it's now a key Tailoring resource.

All this is digression though. Bobbi finally gets the shade she wants (spoiler: it wasn't even the one she was trying for, lol). And grabs some stuff to complement her outfit so she looks stunning next to her grange display:

The 3 forces of only very minor bits of evil make fun of the clown for a while, giggling.

After chatting with everyone and enjoying their comments about the feather in her chapeau, Bobbi takes a load off to chat with Penny. She notices Bobbi still wearing white shoes so late in the fall to which Bobbi replies that she's working on a self-cleaning spell and testing it on her shoes. Poor Penny takes it seriously, wondering how well it would work for dishes and her mom in general.

When she thinks no-one else but Gus is looking, Bobbi pigs out on burgers.
superpigBobbi.jpg

She remembered not to wear her crop top this year because while doing the same last year, her belly hung out so much that Haley thought she was pregnant. Bobbi had to remind her that was a very low-risk condition in their household.

Next Bobbi catches Leah winking at Robin, saying just a bit too loudly:

Robin looks confused, surprised, horrified, recovered, and sly all in the space of 2 seconds. Certainly the most memorable thing of the Festival!

Looking for somewhere to sleep off 11 burgers, Bobbi stumbles into an old pal.
donttell.jpg

My friend in Yoba, I just want to curl up under a tree and sleep off lunch. Do you have any positions open for a cat? I even have the ears.

After a short monologue in which the Dwarf recounts the 11 Goblin Rebellions of the previous 650 years, Bobbi responds with some light snoring. She let the Dwarf know that humans listen best with their eyes closed so not to confuse the reality around them with the splendidly wonderful imaginary landscapes the Dwarf's recitation was spinning in her inner mind's eye.

They seem pleased.

Bobbi is awakened by some light yelling and frustrated noises coming from the general direction of the Grange display and as she stumbles out from behind barrels and hay bales, is greeted with a hero's welcome. Or at least with excitedly raised voices which seems close enough. It's apparently late in the day or something and Pierre's skin condition which flares up whenever he's not behind a counter with a cash register on it is about to consume him in a fiery tower of flamey flames. Or whatever, Bobbi isn't paying attention.

grangetaunt.jpg

Nevertheless, nothing wakes Farmer Bobbi up quickly better than the prospect of a bout of light taunting. Yes, Caroline is invited to move in with Emily and Bobbi on the Farm. No, Bobbi does not pay attention to see if Pierre is paying attention. Yes, she tells Caroline this is Emily's idea.

Yes, that is a lie.

It was both their ideas after a bottle of Ancient Fruit wine or two.

Oops, Bobbi wins. Better luck next Farmer!

The following day, Emily hits Bobbi with this:

Wait, did you just get off the phone with Caroline...?
