1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Had to delete some of my perfected saves. Things got so bad I could barely get to the list of saves to load, and I had to restart the game a few times to get there. Deleted my two oldest, and things improved significantly. Might need to erase another 1-2 saves after reaching Perfection on my current save if I want to start another.

Completed the Danger in the Deep quest and picked up another Prismatic Grange quest. Bought the galaxy souls I needed and put the first one on my sword. Will need to hunt for cinder shards to complete the upgrade. Got the last mineral I needed for the museum from the geodes collected while restoring the elevator in the mine. Now there's only 3 artifacts between me and that stardrop reward. 2 from the desert, and a dino egg.

Deleting those saves made me consider possible post-perfection goals. And I realized the farm map I'm most drawn to use for that is the hill-top farm... which was one of the saves I deleted. Riverland is annoying in the lack of straight lines, and most other farm maps have very few limits in where stuff can be placed. The hilltop farm would also reduce my ability to make a mushroom log grove on the farm, which has become my go-to way of earning money mid-game. Developing and using the entire farm would be one goal, but I feel I should have some other goal to work towards, with possibly some limitations, like when I forbid myself to sell red mushrooms until I had a full stack of them, or only selling off mayonnaise and other artisan goods from animal produce in batches of 100.

I hate hate hate combat - the closest I like to get to combat is turn-based RPGs. Anything real time freaks me out and I end up flailing and button-mashing like an idiot. Today I grabbed my Lava Katana (no prismatic shard yet) and had my first try at the Skull Cavern (besides dying there at the Desert Festival in another save). It was a very high luck day and I brought a stack of cheese, but in my nervous state I completely forgot to eat anything for buffs, and, even worse, forgot to bring bombs (which I haven't really used before). So I get down to floor 23 without much trouble at all, but then floor 24 suddenly has like 6 mummies, which I have no way to permanently kill, clustered around the ladder. Then as I was questioning my farmer's life choices a swarm of serpents showed up. I fled, and consoled myself by winning big on the slots in the Casino and picking up the rarecrow.

Also, Robin finished building my cellar, so I can age stuff now.

I have several farms, playing a good bunch of them in parallel, but I never came to the point that I need to delete one of them, how many farms are we speaking about ?

I'm not even sure I would accept to do delete one of my farms. In case of tech issues, I would probably move the farms folders that I consider as "complete" out of the saves folder to reduce memory load instead.

I had 5 farms brought to the point of having visited the summit, and a 6th farm closing in on that. (now it's 3 with a 4th) The phone I bought is kind of a cheap older model. I've got something of a phobia of using phones since I was little, so it was more of a "I guess I have to have one for the dozen or so phone calls I make in a year, but I don't wanna" when I bought it. Stardew Valley helps me become better friends with my phone, but I accept that it might not be up to handling too much.

The farms I've left at the point of Perfection, I'm not sure I'll keep playing on any of them. If I wanted to play on those maps again, I'd be more likely to start all over and see if I could do better than before as pick up where I left.

Ah ok, you faced a technical hardware issue, rather than an over-production of farm files.

I agree, though I appreciate to load an old and complete farm here and then to see how it was, what I did with it... Some kind of remembrance or inspiration, if you like.

Some phones are really crappy. My tablet will definitely struggle if I had that many saves lmfaoo.

I did take screenshots of the farms, so I have at least something to remember them by.

I usually use the Beach farm and build a cabin right away for 100g. I initially put it at the far end of the farm for when I get back late from fising for catfish so I can sleep there. I will also use it as a mini shed later with all the furniture removed except for the bed and seed gift. I've started a new playthrough on the Riverlands farm and discovered that the cabin comes with another free fish smoker that you can remove. You could get a few of them for 100g each without the 10000g crafting recipe then destroy the extra cabins you don't want. It's probably not an itentional game mechanism.

Finally got the rare opening screen. Got about 1000 strawberry seeds. Even unlocked the dangerous mines (jade crystalariums go brrrrr). Also started a new save on the beach farm. It's been fun starting a new farm from scratch, since it means I get to set it up differently. I wish I could rearrange the farm on my main save, but it's too tedious to do.

Had a decent outcome from the desert festival. On the first day I didn't get all that far past floor 50, but I got 7 treasure rooms, some of them back to back, and 2 prehistoric floors. The "treasure" wasn't all that much though. The best of it was an iridium sprinkler, black cowboy hat, and a prismatic shard. The effect of the festival food combined with a lucky lunch.
2nd day didn't have as many treasure rooms, but it did get me an auto-grabber. I'd only bought one, for the barn (so I wouldn't have to chase down the cow and the goat), and hoped for the Skull Cavern to provide one for the coop, and it did. Got another 2 prehistoric floors.
Third day... only high point was that I could afford the magic rock candy, and a bunch of other stuff from the calico egg merchant. The dish for sale was lucky lunch, and I got them all.

Built the remaining 2 obelisks after the flower dance. Picked up another Prismatic Grange quest, and have just one or two more recipes to buy from Qi.
One more day and it's Summer.

I lose track. A few notables: threw bug-killer enchantment on Meowmere. Got a bunch of bombs and iridium from a Skull Cavern run I never planned to make. Dried AF is Oboya farms big money maker. Island obelisk is the only one l have.

Is dried af actually a good money maker tho? I still don't have Island obesilik because of the fact that I need more dragontooth lmfaoo.

The best money from AF is probably Iridium Quality wine. The dried fruit just demands less attention and space. Diego prefers playing in the mines to loading/unloading kegs and casks. I'm getting about 100,000 from it per week now, and looking to get that to 150,000 soon.

Tbf kegs aren't that high maintaince. I have truffles as my main money maker and I pull about 300k a week. Maybe more or less. Starfruit wine is another money maker but that's kind of stuck in a weird space. I'm trying to make a ancient fruit empire instead in my greenhouse.

Maybe not, but it's fast money and at least some profit, especially if one has Artisan. With Artisan, even iridium quality produce turns a small profit. For ancient fruits, if one gets 116 fruits per harvest, one would need just 3-4 dehydrators to process most of it before the next harvest.

My mainstay money-maker is dried mushrooms. My preference chain is: purple mushrooms, then chanterelles, morels, and as a last measure common mushrooms. The 20 dehydrators eats 100 mushrooms per day, so often run out of prefered mushrooms before the next harvest if there's no rain and 4 days between harvests. Would I earn more per mushroom if I pickled them? Yes, I would, but I'm short on preserve jars as it is with most of the farm's other produce being turned into pickles and jelly.

Got an auto-petter from a golden mystery box. It went into the coop so now I won't have to look for the small animals, only the animals that actually stick up from the grass. My 5th ostrich has hatched, and a second ostrich has been given a cracker. I bought the wood and coal I needed to make the last 35 units for the preserve jar shed, so now that is finally at maximum production capacity.

Maxed out friendship with all of the villagers, and all dishes cooked at least once. One or two more items left to ship, and the raccoons won't be of help with those. I guess it's time to turn my focus to completing the remaining 3 monster eradication goals, and work on the crafting. Just into the second half of Summer and about 60% of the way to buy a golden clock.

During the desert festival, I crafted a bomb and then lost all of my 20 Calico eggs. It's the Switch crafting items dissapearing glitch.
I hated to click "Like" because that kind of thing hurts. Especially if trying to save up for what the calico egg trader has for sale on day 3.
