I was on here posting another bug and figured I'd post this as well. May just be abysmal RNG but worth looking into.
Have Pirate skill (+Treasure chest Chance), using Treasure Hunter Lure, using Deluxe Bait, on Iridium Rod. Fishing in Fall Year 1 (forget the day) afternoon in Ocean out front of Willy's shop. Daily luck was positive (no charm yet).
Expect roughly 1 Chest per 3 casts (obviously over a full day fishing, really it is roughly 72.5% chance of getting one chest in 3 casts).
From noon until ~5pm got 0 chests, averaging 3.5 casts per hour. Chance of one chest should have been about 99.947%.
Unequipped bait and lure from rod, then reequipped. Began finding chests at expected rate.
Potentially terrible RNG.
