Windows Legend won't bite again in Year 2 (Bug?)

Game version: 1.5.6
Mods: None

I caught the Legend once during Year 1 in Spring, and I sold it.
Now in Year 2, during Spring on a rainy day, I’m trying to catch it again.

- Fishing level is 10
- Casting exactly at the correct tile above the log in Mountain Lake
- Rainy weather
- Using an Advanced Iridium Rod (with two trap bobbers and deluxe bait)
- Tried for 2 in-game day straight (restarted days, over 100 casts)
- Not even a single hook attempt

I understand that since patch 1.5, it's possible to catch the Legend again if you sold it.
But it seems like the fish is not appearing at all.

Can this be confirmed as a bug, or is there something hidden I'm missing?

I do not think you can catch a legendary fish in 1.6 more than once without using mods. I do not remember any changes to this rule in 1.6. E.g, let's check the wiki, which is updated to reflect 1.6.15 changes, for an arbitrary legendary fish. Look at the description of "Legend" fish:

The Legend is a fish that can be caught during Spring in the Mountain lake during rainy weather. It is one of the five Legendary Fish, so it can only be caught once per save file, or once per player in Multiplayer.

As you see, even in 1.6.15 the things are the same as in 1.5. The only legendary fish you can get more than once are legendary fish from Qi quest that is repeatable.

Isn't this reset when i sell it? I thought its only if a save it or put it in fish tank etc.

No, the legendary fish can only be caught once, regardless of what you do with them.
