hey everyone

Hey, WanderingWendaline! Thanks so much for the welcome, and your wishes have really paid off, I am certainly enjoying myself! I see her as a tough nut to crack, but once you get a full scope of her, it's just pure gold! I don't have any favourites, I mostly watch my online friends play and some of my favourite YTers who pick up multiple games at a time and try them out!

Do you have any favourites?
You're welcome ^^ I'm so glad you like it here!
I always saw Haley as being blunt and impulsive with her words, making them come off wrong even if she doesn't mean for them to be hurtful. I agree, though! Once you get a full scope of her, it is indeed pure gold :gold:

I'm about the same. I think the first SDV YouTuber I watched was DangerouslyFunny. His videos were... Interesting, to say the least, but that was a pretty long time ago. More recently I've been watching Lummi's Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream series where she made all the SDV characters. I won't spoil anything in case anyone here decides to go watch it, but it has shocked me multiple times, lol. It's so chaotic.
I also liked Leapalot's "Exposing the Valley" series, and I've enjoyed most of SodorArt's videos. Just theory videos (and chaotic videos) in general, I guess!

You’ve given me amazing recommendations, I’ll be sure to check them out! SDV deserves so much more attention, I feel it’s so underrated!

I hope you enjoy them :)
Stardew Valley definitely isn't as popular (or as widely talked about) as games like Minecraft or Roblox, but as far as indie games and farming sims go, it's done pretty well! Any time I look at another "cozy game" or farming sim, there's almost always at least one review comparing it to Stardew. I don't think it's always fair to compare video games, but it does show how successful it's been. It has become the pinnacle of farming sims and cozy games.

Ah! But butbutbut what section is the Introductions forum in??

Off-Topic

So off topic discussions are very much on-topic. Wait, can we do that? It doesn't make sense. Whatever, I now declare this section:

All-Topic
Also, also, also,
A lot of off topic stuff is still on the topic of SDV, bc yeah, and so maybe it is all topic!

To be fair, there are 2 or 3 games that trade places at the top of Steam Charts all-time and Stardew is one of them. Sure some of those first person shooter people dismiss Stardew but the vast majority don't. And note that among Steam's review system, Stardew is the #1 ranked game for % Positive Reviews available on Steam.

Right up there with another amazing pixelated indie game
Yeah, IMO it's pretty cool that with everything that so many modern games espouse in terms of hi quality graphics and performance and frames per second, #1 and #2 aren't about those things at all, even in the slightest.

They're about unparalleled gameplay and repeatability and flexibility and much more. The graphics serve each game perfectly and to some extent they're part of why we play, but not because realism.
