German Typo/Display Text Errors

Hey everyone,

While reading through the “moving in” cutscene for Linus in the German localization (Mountain.de-DE.json), I noticed a small translation issue that actually changes the tone of the scene quite a bit.


If you don’t offer Linus to move in, this is what he says in German:

Linus: „Vielen Dank, @. Ich hab mir ja schon fast Sorgen gemacht. Ich dachte, du würdest mich einladen, zusammen mit dir auf den Hof zu ziehen! wink“

And in the English original (Mountain.json):

Linus: "Thanks, @. You had me worried, there... I thought you were going to ask me to move on to the farm with you! wink"

The issue is with the word “wink” – in German, it’s just written as “wink” (literally the English word), which actually means “wave” in German, not a playful eye gesture.


So while the English line ends on a light, teasing note, the German version comes across as a bit awkward or even confusing. It loses that relaxed, humorous tone.


A better word choice would be „zwinker“, which is the German equivalent of the flirty “wink” in English.


Just thought I’d mention this in case it’s useful for future polish. It’s a small detail, but it makes a noticeable difference in how the scene is felt!

stack and pile are translated with the exact same word in german:

"BookPile": "Bücherstapel",

I recommend using "Bücherhaufen" for pile instead of "Bücherstapel".
This makes it kinda difficult to create a wiki entry for those objects.

I'm not fluent in German nor German noun logic, but for me it looks like pre 1.5 fertilizers was written without spaces or hyphens and newer Deluxe-Dünger is written with hyphen.

Also, fertilizers tiers are written together, and retaining soil tiers is in brackets. Retaining soil has 2 different translations: Hydrogel (pre 1.5) and Hydro-Boden (post 1.5).

SpeedGro also has 2 different translations for pre 1.5 (Geschwind-Wachs) and post 1.5: (Speed-Zücht)

All these names should be harmonized.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you were expecting when you asked for harmonized names, but here's how I would translate and harmonize them.

Some of the names include a hyphen, while others don’t. That’s due to how compound word rules work in German.

"Deluxe" is not originally a German word, so adding a hyphen improves readability and is commonly done when combining such foreign elements.
Technically, something like "Standardwachstumsförderer" would be grammatically correct, but it's difficult to read, which is why "Standard Wachstumsförderer" works better stylistically.

The current in-game term "Hydrogel (Standard)" is perfectly understandable and technically correct, so after thinking about it for a while, I wouldn't actually change it too much.

Here are my suggestions, let me know what you think:

Basic Fertilizer -> Standarddünger
Quality Fertilizer -> Qualitätsdünger
Deluxe Fertilizer -> Deluxe-Dünger

Basic Retaining Soil -> Standardhydrogel
Quality Retaining Soil -> Qualitätshydrogel
Deluxe Retaining Soil -> Deluxe-Hydrogel

Speed-Gro -> Standard-Wachstumsförderer
Deluxe Speed-Gro -> Deluxe-Wachstumsförderer
Hyper-Speed-Gro -> Hyper-Wachstumsförderer

Tree Fertilizer -> Baumdünger

Maybe one could use "Luxus" instead of Deluxe but I am not sure that that would sound any better.

I put Haleys Bracelet last, because it is not translated at all. It should be: Haley Verlorenes Armband
But I realize its just for a cutscene so nevermind.

Wouldn't it be "Haleys verlorenes Armband" rather than "Haley Verlorenes Armband"?
Let me know if I'm mistaken or what your thoughts are!
