PC [BUG] FPS drops, game stuttering and sound distorted since 1.5.5

Hi,
I play Stardew Valley vanilla with no mods. Yesterday I loaded the game after the update, I was only in game 5 minutes and the sound became distorted. The FPS also drops rapidly and the game begins to stutter.
So I exited and reloaded the game and the same happened again 5 minutes into gameplay. No one thing is causing this, as the first time it happened, I was in the Desert about to go into Skull Cavern. On the second attempt to play, I entered Jodi and Kents house and the sound and FPS issues appeared again.
It is a save file made in update 1.5.4 and I have never had these issues until after the patch was downloaded and installed yesterday.
Is anyone else having this problem too?

Yes, I am. I usually run mods, but I removed them all and tried the game in vanilla form to see if the problem happened again, which it did.

Yes, I'm having exactly the same problem. A few minutes into playing, the sound/music goes very distorted, and everything starts lagging. I've tried solutions mentioned in other threads including turning VSync off, but nothing works

Thank you for the replies.
I did try a new save file last night and still experienced the same issues 5 minutes in to gameplay. So I am not sure how to fix this myself,as I am not good with technology. I am just about to finish my third year on my my save from 1.5.4 and I would really like to carry on playing. Stardew is a game I brought when it came out and I also have it on my kindle fire.
Main issues is game stuttering, FPS dropping and sound being distorted, just like yourselves.
If anyone can please HELP I would be grateful.
