Heeheehee me tooI love the moniker "ninja verde" so much.
Yay, +1 for the perch-helper! On the way out of our last meeting yesterday another ninja verde was acting as doorman, so someone I was working with picked it up and escorted it from the handle to a nearby tree for a more naturalistic life experience. Must be that time of year. This ninja verdé was met in the stairwell at my place of work. Helped them to a perch outside.
The mantining! One year we got mantis egg cases and hatched them in the yard! It was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. I hv pics somewhere.....Yay, +1 for the perch-helper! The talismans have been cast, their power is coalescing. Elusive raindrops form and fall, some even reaching the ground and heads of disbelieving people and squirrels alike. Knowing the unchecked power of the lands to repel nascent and threatening precipitation, casually thrusting it back towards the stratosphere, our weary traveler continues on, unconcerned by these mere drops. The Weather app's dire warnings go unheeded because all who dwell here know the balance of power lies below ground, never above it.
Passing by, a rare sight is spied, perhaps these only come out to answer the monsoon's blustery calling:

Bebezzz!
Maybe they shrink when exposed to (teensy bitty bits of) water? Are they descendants of the Wicked Witch of the West and Ant-Man???
50 minutes later there was but a spattering of water laid upon the land but hours later the accumulation grows to... 0.15in or 4mm
¡Qué wow!
I'm a bit further south than you, and all I got was some mist (not even 1 mm) and not a breath of wind. However, the temperature did drop down, only to be replaced by high humidity. I wanted rain.It has been 10 days since it's been cool enough to open windows at night. It's been over 100 days since the last rain.

But but the storm came from the south! Ok maybe the southeast so it somehow just teased you and made your day worse, bleah. I don't understand weather, it is the very definition of fickle.I'm a bit further south than you, and all I got was some mist (not even 1 mm) and not a breath of wind. It's amazing how close those turts let you get to them, the ones on the ditch around here are very skittish.
