You were talking about it earlier, about language and stuff, but I just absolutely fell in love with the Japanese language. It's just so beautiful, whereas Spanish, to me, just feels somehow incomplete. Idk how to say it, but if you understand syntax and such then I'm sure you can appreciate what I'm trying to say
japanese stop fonts 🙏

To me they feel like a way to cheese their way into people getting their post count up. Back in my day, when I was a young buck, we didn't have forum games, and people still became local legends! Yarr!
When I first joined ranks felt more meaningful then they are now. Never thought I'd become a LL or really chased it. It really is way easier now with forum games.
My quest is to become a local legend! NOTHING CAN STOP ME!!
Why...? Adding to the above why not just have fun instead of worrying about that?

It's a psychological need for validation and achievement, if you study Maslow.

That's why gaming achievements are so toxically EVERYWHERE these days. Like, literally, we used to make up our own fun goals for games back in the day. Achievements are so tryhard these days sometimes.

But... but but if it wasn't for Spanish I wouldn't have learned another language. And I freekin' learned more about English from 7 years of Spanish than I did in English classes. Spanish and its pronunciation (lookin' at you French!) just makes sense and IMO it's like the gateway language to learning other ones, especially romance languages. Also over half a billion speakers makes it quite useful.

Plus Spanish/Mexican/S. American TV football announcers are the best, full stop.

I'm not saying it's not useful to know, I just know that I have a learned dislike for most romance languages (looking at you French).

Ironically I would like to learn portuguese, even if it sounds like a Russian trying to speak French while gargling pebbles

I normally don't care, but I figured I'd show up since I believe I was the third local legend chronologically :p

Yeah, I understand what you’re saying, japanese is a really beautiful language and it is extremely poetic and it’s expression is extremely artistic and eloquent, it cannot be beat.

As for syntax, I get what you mean with spanish, is it the fact that it sounds rather sloppy or harsh? It’s like a whistle stuck in your throat when trying to speak it a lot of the time, Japanese on the other hand somewhat pushes you away from your comfort zone and forces you to use more vowels and tones, it’s really refreshing, I wish I knew it but I can also appreciate Japanese media!
