Why Hate Taylor Swift?

[Lew Zealand]

lol someone sent this to me the other day

My brother writes with a pen/cil like that, normal to me. What's more disheartening is that people waste their time making memes like that. Yeah it doesn't have nearly the carbon footprint of Ms. Swift, but it has a negative social footprint which contributes to the polarizing us vs. them mentality which the internet so effectively amplifies. Good luck getting people to give up that ephemeral serotonin boost, though.

[Draconifors]

Making fun of someone based on something as trivial as how they hold a pencil is ridiculous and immature. It's something you might hear a kid say about a primary school classmate.
Anyone creating and sharing such "memes" is making a fool of themselves.

There are good reasons to dislike someone, such as their significant use of private jets. Carbon emissions affect the planet, and therefore everyone.
There are really dumb reasons to dislike someone, such as their way of holding a writing instrument. Such a thing affects absolutely no one.

Basically, the image attached here is making fun of Swift simply because she is different than whoever made the image, and the text makes it obvious it's meant to be ridicule rather than in good humour. It can even be seen as saying "different than you = bad and deserving of dislike", which as a way of thinking is the start of many vile things.

one: thanks for basically insulting both me and my friend,
two: We did not even make that meme,
three: who said my friend sending it was not saying they were mad at someone sending the meme
four: I was really not saying that, I was just sending a meme I saw about taylor swift, because this thread is about taylor swift,

honestly the first panel in the meme, where she is writing on her arm, the hand writing looked really good,

I wouldn’t consider myself to be a swiftie, but a majority of my friends are swifties, so I MUST KNOW THE LYRICS SO I CAN VIBE WITH THEM!! I have no idea why people hate Taylor though. I asked one of my classmates and they just said she’s annoying. I also ran into another person online and said they just didn’t like swifties because some were mean to them, but otherwise they didn’t have a problem with Taylor herself. So I infer that some people don’t like Taylor Swift because some of her fans could be obnoxious(not directing this at anyone) people could think that Taylor’s music makes them like that. But, I do like her music!

[StardewSwiftie]

Wow, I left for a few months and my thread became semi-popular, I certainly agree that Swift's use of her private jets is unnecessary. Also, I personally only like the Chiefs because of Taylor. I was never interested in football before Taylor started dating Travis. Thank you for all the reply's to my thread!

[Wolf Haley]

Most folks that hate her, imho, just hate her because she's popular while not being male.

That said, I don't care for her music, but as a person she's okay.

ummm no one dislikes her just cuz she's a girl.

[Wolf Haley]

I just don't like her cuz she's SO FREAKING OVERRATED AND IT DRIVES ME CRAZY SEEING HER EVERYWHERE I GO EVEN THO HER MUSIC IS MID. also people think she made travis Kielce popular, which is an OUTRAGE since he has always been an NFL star, and swifts wouldn't know any better cause they only started watching chefs games to see Taylor swift. LIKE JUST GET OVER HER SHES NOT THAT GOOD LITTLE BRO

Honestly, I find her music relatable as a teenage girl. I also don't believe that she made Travis famouse.

fair. I mean it makes sense that teenage girls would enjoy it more than a fourteen year old guy

[Powell]

Her music is trash

[Cat King]

don't hate

[StardewSwiftie]

Haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate.

Oh, my sweet summer child... yes, yes they do.

[Wolf Haley]

that logically does not make sense. people don't dislike billie eilish cuz she's a girl, or Sabrina carpenter, Tyla, or literally any other famous woman in the world

[Wolf Haley]

maybe its cuz of something she has done that was caused by a feminine quality, but not plainly because she's a girl. virtually nobody over the age of ten is that shallow or immature

It's kinda the same reason that people don't like Demon Slayer. A lot of people don't have a good reason, they just don't. It's shallow

[Slimeglasses]

i don't really hate her, but i'm not really a fan of like... the attention/glorifying people give to celebrities, and for taylor swift in particular, people focus on her so much and talk about her so much that hearing her name just makes me a bit exhausted lol

her music isn't my thing, i tend to listen to pretty niche stuff, so overall her stuff doesn't appeal to me and i have no real opinion of any news that comes out

You know what? I couldn't agree more. This is so true.

Also saying "I'm not a bot" is exactly what a bot would say, is it not ?

It's also what someone who is not a bot would say.
