I don't play myself, but my human has it, fairly heavily modded (im not sure which) but in his last save he started a clone army, he had embryos in growth vats, but then one of them was born a twin...of 78 freakin babies...it only stopped ejecting infants when one was stillborn... we had to ship off babies to his allies just to stop them from dying in their own vomit, we genetically modified them to be ugly so no one would cars if they died... we butchered and ate those babies so at least the cannibals would be happy, we had not the growth vats, power, food, or man power to handle that many tiny needy vomit machines.. plus the other embryos in the other growth vats are in danger of spirting 20 at once too, no one is safe, the freakin ghost babies are going to haunt me forever...that save is poisoned by cold, dead, sticky baby hands... only like, 20 of them survived to childhood....2024 is an amazing year for indie games! Today is obviously the much-anticipated release date for the 1.6 update in Stardew Valley and I'm so excited to pick the game up this weekend, but is anyone else here absolutely hyped for the upcoming giant 1.5 update to Rimworld coming out next month?!
If you play it, have you checked out the 18-page changelog (found here) and are you as excited as I am about crawling downed pawns and the obsolesence of several mods thanks to base game changes?
What are your thoughts on the new DLC, Anomaly, coming out alongside the update?
Do you play with any or all of the already available DLC?
What is your favorite Geneva Convention violation to commit in the game?
That storyteller effed you HARD, my god! I feel like the two things you NEED in a man in black are medical and at least the ability to do violence, otherwise what's the point of a "savior"? RIP besieged base thoughWhich mods have been incorporated into the game?
One colony got wiped out by a siege. Our largely wooden base got incinerated by artillery. Our best fighter took a direct hit and died. Soon after the rest was unable to move with nobody able to rescue them. The siege lasted long enough for a man in black to wander in. Who was incapable of violence...
The possibilities really are endless... and horrific haha. Cannibalism almost feels like a hack in the game sometimes; so long as the raids and travelers keep coming your pawns can eat and clothe themselves with the skin of their victims into infinity--at least until the game decides to send back-to-back-to-back mech clusters and infestations, but that's how you know you've made it on the Rim I suppose.I don't play myself, but my human has it, fairly heavily modded (im not sure which) but in his last save he started a clone army, he had embryos in growth vats, but then one of them was born a twin...of 78 freakin babies...it only stopped ejecting infants when one was stillborn... we had to ship off babies to his allies just to stop them from dying in their own vomit, we genetically modified them to be ugly so no one would cars if they died... we butchered and ate those babies so at least the cannibals would be happy, we had not the growth vats, power, food, or man power to handle that many tiny needy vomit machines.. plus the other embryos in the other growth vats are in danger of spirting 20 at once too, no one is safe, the freakin ghost babies are going to haunt me forever...that save is poisoned by cold, dead, sticky baby hands... only like, 20 of them survived to childhood....
So yeah, pretty cool game
True, she boned us pretty badly there, and I liked that colony. But lesson learned, wooden houses don't mesh well with fire artillery from sieges. Another colony basically died to heat strokes from a siege, because I wasn't able to remove roof to save people before going down. It was awful. Almost anything can kill you on the RimThat storyteller effed you HARD, my god! They've incorporated a LOT into vanilla, thankfully. I know for sure wall lights, couches, and books have all been added. They also added crawling mechanics so your suffering pawns can attempt to crawl to safety during firefights which allows you to keep all your fighters fighting and your doctors don't have to wander into the line of fire to rescue people; it's quite fun to trace the blood trails too, they tell one heck of a story! If you couldn't mod Rimworld I really doubt we'd have so many hours in it; the concept is great, it's super deep even in vanilla, but ugh, the virgin UI
I can't imagine playing Rimworld on console. It just seems like there's too much to do in any run to do it all on a controller, imo, but maybe a steam controller could bridge that gap. I also haven't touched a console since the PS4 so maybe it wouldn't be as brutal as I'm envisioning with whatever new doodads the PS5 controllers have haha.
