I think there is an actual technique where soda is used to marinate meat. I just assume that's what she meant, and she is asking you to get some on the down low so Pierre doesn't realize.
I have seen that Coca-Cola has been used in cakes to keep it moist, and I’ve seen sodas used on meat sometimes to keep seasonings on (soda makes seasoning stick, but it is much better with sauces like mustard) but I would be concerned if someone used it for a casserole, and hopefully she didn’t use the can as well.

You've never had TAB brisket, I guess. The saccharine was the secret. Of course Joja Cola is all about the sugar alcohols.
Evidently not, I'll have to take your word on it, though I will point out that a casserole is a slightly different application than joja cola

Of course we both know the "awful truth that you can't reveal to the ears of youth except to say it isn't worth a dime:" that there's a list of items and a list of use cases that are randomly paired in ways that allow hilarity to ensue. I think the bright side is that you are only going to eat the one dish that Jodi knows how to make properly and never be invited for dinner again, so you will never need to confront the Joja Cola tater tot hot dish in person.
