So I planted Starfruit on the 13th of summer. I started prepping in the upper two quadrants - using all fertilizer I had in my inventory (some speed gro, the rest quality) til I ran out, and the entire bottom of my hoed area has absolutely no fertilizer at all. Then, I planted as much Starfruit as I could before the day ended (with around half of it fertilized), and filled the rest in with Melon the next day.
It is the final day of the season, and all Starfruit that had fertilizer (except for a few sparse pieces) are not ready, yet almost every Starfruit without fertilizer was picked in time (same with all melon). I don't understand what happened here, as I not only planted the north Starfruit first, but they're also fertilized. Is there something where quality fertilizer plants take longer?
FWIW, I also didn't water any of my crops when I planted em - which idk if that makes a difference or not (curious if that also delays by a day, so if you know please share!), but still doesn't explain how the bottom half of my crops were able to be harvested just fine. Wanna figure this out so I don't end up wasting $$ and crops in the future (esp in case there's something funky going on here)
Anyway, thanks for any and all help
