Windows Gifting Lewis a Quartz when completing a help wanted quest

I accepted a Help Wanted quest "Delivery: Lewis I'd like to put Quartz on my great-grandfather's tombstone. Please deliver it sometime today." Upon delivering a Quartz to Lewis, he accepted it as a gift, saying what a horrendous thing to give. Upon giving him a second Quartz (exact same item, exact same method) the quest completed, and he then thanked me for completing his posted request.

When you are completing a quest, just have the item in your inventory-- don't give it to the person.

It will complete the quest without being "read" as a gift. The second time, since it was the same day, the game didn't read it as a gift, so the quest was completed successfully.
