Solved The Pirate’s Wife quest lost photo bug

I am playing Stardew Valley on a Xbox Series X. It’s been working well until I started the Pirate’s wife quest. I spoke with Birdie and got her husband’s picture. I built a chest to store things outside I put the picture in and left the island. When I came back the box was gone and most of the things stored in it were laying there except the picture. I can’t find the picture and Birdie no longer responds when I try to speak to her. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks for your help.

Have you checked if it is in the "lost & found" box in the mayor's house?

Chests can get destroyed if someone walks through them but irreplaceable items should go to the box for you to pick up.
