What did you do to earn the eyepatch!? Honestly it would be awesome if you guys could go back to matching, it looks as if you didn't get the full opportunity to. It certainly does look good though, you're right!
Sadly I need to get off now. :( But I think I will put my eyepatch on again to match with Nonak when I get back!
Glad I made a new friend today! Thanks for chatting Caviar, Nonak, and Cuddlbug as well! Talk to y’all later! :D

Hey guys, I don't actually own Stardew Valley yet, I've watched gameplay of it and analysis of it on YouTube and it seems like a wonderful game. I just made a Steam account, so maybe when I get enough money, I can actually get around to buying it and experiencing it for myself.

If you couldn't tell, my favourite villager is Haley since we share the same name, and honestly, her personality is really similar to mine, and I thought it was a perfect match. I'll definitely try and befriend her the most when I get the game.

Since this is nothing short of an introduction thread, I guess I should say a few things about myself:
Despite my location being "Pelican Town", I'm actually from the US, I live in NY and my favourite thing to do is draw and learn different languages because I think linguistics are beautiful and when you learn the base of a language you can actually do a lot with it, almost like a mathematical expression.

My favourite color is probably blue or a deep pink, and I suppose we can treat this as an AMA thread since I'm not sure what is customary for introductions.

Thanks for having me, and I hope I can be more active here and make some more friends!

Hey danthecat! Thanks, and my favourite language right now would probably have to be French in terms of easiness. Like, it's quite similar to English, and many words are based from latin/english, so you can almost guess.

Phonetically though, I think Arabic is quite beautiful, or even Greek, but both are extremely difficult. I think Russian and anything that follows the Cyrillic alphabet is also extremely interesting to learn and listen to! I listen to many songs from those languages and they never fail to amaze me.

What about you, do you speak other languages or have a favourite outside of English?

4 years ago, i started learning french and it was really easy at first, and it is really easy to guess since a lot of words english borrows from french and a lot of it comes from latin. the grammar and silent letters were very tricky for me though.

and i agree listening to russian and greek is very cool, but it must be very difficult because it's in a different alphabet lol.

hm my favorite all time is probably french but ive been really into italian so much, because it's another romance language like french so it's already semifamiliar. im also 25% italian so thats a big factor as to why im so into learning it :)

oooh I see. 4 years is definitely a long time lol. What do you use to learn? Or is it something you pick up from school? It really is difficult with grammar, and in languages like French, Italian, Arabic and Greek (even German), there are weird unspoken rules regarding gendered verbs that you kind of just have to pick up on and know, but I’m sure you're being modest and you're actually great at it!

Some people confuse Russian and Greek which is so silly, they only have a few phonetically similar words, same with Greek and Spanish, but once you actually get into them, they're extremely similar. I really respect those long lines of culture that shape how we interact and talk to people today.

Also, we both have the same favourite language, isn't that fun? What do you know in Italian? Maybe I could guess it with my limited knowledge haha
Also, you're part Italian? That's so cool! Where else are you from since that's just 1/4 lol

Thanks for replying, and it's also great to get in touch with your familial roots! And ty for the follow, I just realised sorry lol

my favorite line in italian to speak out loud would be perche stai mangiando un gelato prima di cena have fun guessing it :D

i usually just identify myself as an Italian American
