What is Powerdermelon?

I play Stardew Valley in English though this is not my native language. Sometimes, I need to translate or search for an item name to find out what the item is, especially fishes or location based items like salmon berries or cranberries, that are typically found in North America.

Hence, when update 1.6 was released, I searched for Powdermelon and all the results I got were related to Stardew Valley. I assume that this fruit is purely fictive. However, it may be related to an existing vegetable. What is your opinion on the matter?

You could well be right that this fruit is just an invention. It's probably a cross between a classic SDV melon, pumpkin, and qi fruit, otherwise it couldn't grow in winter... 🤷

I think it's inspired by the wax gourd, which sometimes is called "winter melon".

From what I can summarize from these posts, powdermelon is not directly related to a real fruit, confirming this is a fictive one. It seems to have be created specifically for Winter, though related to existing melon types like musk melon or honeydew melon. Thank you for the insights.
