1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Huntress Farm updates:
  • Built Sebastian his slime hutch. Got a green slime egg from Marlon and a blue one from a slime in the mines.
  • Currently building fish pond 17 (out of a planned 26)!
  • Fish Pond 16's build prevented Farmer Helena from completing a quest that required talking to Robin. Thus I remembered not to have her building a pond over her birthday. Instead, I upgraded my coop to deluxe and gave her a nice plate of spaghetti.
  • Upgraded my shed and added a 'backroom' for sleeping so my farmer has an option on the Southern end of the massive beach farm. Also, I like to imagine Robin sleeps there while she building all these fish ponds.
  • Got a prismatic shard from my rainbow trout pond on the morning of the fair. I used it in my grange display and then used it to complete the final bundle that evening.
  • Completed Pierre's quality produce quest and Clint's cave patrol quest.
  • Gave Sandy a stardrop tea on her birthday and then headed to skull cavern with the goal of gathering as much stone as possible (screw Qi's quests, I have fish ponds to build).
  • While in skull cavern, I maxed out my combat and mining skills, so all skills are at 10 now and I opened the new path of the five ways.
  • I remembered I can buy coal from Clint and I'm making more money than I know what to do with from all these fish ponds already, so I made a bunch more preserve jars and will be splurging to finish my bee hive area next.
  • Added an attic to the house to move some of my machines into in order to turn the room they were in into a frog and fish terrarium/aquarium room.
  • My farmer took Sebastian on a date night to the theater since he likes the Fall movies. Thinking of asking Krobus next.
My fair display consisted of my rainbow trouts' prizmatic shard; a jar of aged crimsonfish roe; a fresh silver quality lobster from my crabpots; an irridium quality super cucumber I caught on my beach farm; an irridium bar I'd smelted from incidental ore I'd gathered while seeking out stone and coal; an irridium quality duck egg; an irridium quality void chicken egg; an irridium quality blue chicken egg; a gold quality ancient fruit. I feel this represented my farm well. ^_^

Abby's Infinity Planchet Bug Killer.jpg

After dressing my infinity dagger with Abby's planchette a little while ago, I just maxed out its enchantments and made it a bug killer.

Now if only spouses could join us in the mines, Abby would have something against those spiders that she hates with a passion, or even to help her feel safer in the haunted maze.

Maybe next I'll dress up the hammer as Seb's lost mace if I can wait until year 6 when the predictor says he'll be at the Desert Festival.

I finally finished the pantry bundle! Only have the bulletin board left to go. Unfortunately I'm hearing all about how buggy the raccoon family and ginger island are currently, on consoles at least, so I'll have to pause my current playthrough for a while. Here's hoping that everything will be patched up before too much longer ^_^

Yesterday, I learned that if Marnie goes to the beach, you can buy supplies, but not animals - the box she leaves overrides the Animal Catalogue ability to purchase animals while she is away.

New strategy for perfectly orderly acquisition of animals on sequential days:

1. Have the Animal Catalogue
2. Ensure no upcoming festivals
3. Close the beach resort

I am up to Nickel (element number 28); Copper is next, after the Stardew Valley Fair comes and goes.

That sounds like a bug, you should probably report it. The new versions have a lot of little issues that need to be ironed out before CA and friends move on to greener pastures

Oh wow that spoiler is awesome!

Does Sebastian go in the slime hutch he hints for? I think Abby supposedly hints at one too.

I may try Sebastian on my next playthrough. He’s at least post college age, though at 42 I’m not sure I can do that. I know it’s make believe lol but I am so left brained and logically it seems just way to creepy to date some one almost half my age that could be my irl kid. 🫤

"Dear, I've seen your backpack and I know you can fit a change of clothes in there. Maybe you could loosen up just a little and take time to enjoy the beach."

"I worked long and hard for this Hat," Bobbi protests gesticulating slightly too much at the ex-tiger slime fur holding her unkempt hair down. "And it's like the perfect Winter Hat to go with this outfit! Black is slimming, you know," she says, turning from side to side at the waist, showing Emily. A pause and a sheepish grin. "OK I didn't check the weather and thought it was gonna be rainy seeing as it was snowy at home." An exasperated sigh. "The weather forecast button on the giant teleporty thingy in the yard is kinda broken and that... purple people eater in his lego tower with the missing bricks said it's outta warranty, no takebacks! I think he's missing some bricks too." Emily smirks at this. A small and probably not entirely evil grin slowly spreads grinchlike across Bobbi's face. "I may have accidentally dropped a few soggy newspapers I found in the Secret Woods into his cauldron while I was checking some things. Conveniently behind his back." Bobbi's hands go about her midsection in demonstration as they typically do half the talking for her. "He's a bit bloaty round here, probably needs more roughage in his diet so I'm totally doing him a favor!"

Emily reaches over to hug Bobbi and give her a kiss. "That's a big reason why I married you, because you tell silly stories and I don't know if I can believe any of them. The things you say seem at odds with who I see from day to day, but then weirdly they make sense."

Emily pauses, considering. "Maybe you're the 'weirdly' part that makes the silliness into sense." Emily smirks. "I think you make them up on the spot to entertain me, maybe to entertain yourself? They're your way of saying you care." Emily points over Bobbi's shoulder. "You better get your horse before he nibbles off Alex's swimsuit, and I'll see you at home later tonight." Emily pats Bobbi on the butt as she leaves to save Alex from an embarassment worse than death.

Later that evening in the cozy farmhouse surrounded by acres of snow, Bobbi recounts the day as they prepare for bed. She mentions she made a new Shrimp shirt, bought a cute pink top from Sandy, and finally tailored the first few Relaxed Fit and even Baggy Pants she'd ever done. They may be a little extra superrelaxed and overly baggy but with thousands of feet of cloth available, baggy might just be the right style theme for the season.

Just about to turn in, looking forward to a warm bed next to a warm body, Bobbi notices a soft glow outside and wonders if they're going to be graced with a sixth meteor. And if it was gonna destroy her barely planned out farm design. LOL no great loss, she thinks. But it is no meteor. Bobbi grabs Emily who was just dozing off and drags her to the window amid protests of the house being chilly.

"Look up." Bobbi points.

They both gaze upward, following the seeming spacecraft as it lazily ambles it's way across the sky, going this way and that.

"Mmmm not a care in the world, or above it," Emily muses dreamily with a small smile. "Take the hint, Bobs." A little elbow bump to Bobbi's ribs. "They're taking it easy on a sightseeing vacation to another land, in no hurry." The craft fades into the distant night, joining the stars before fading out. Emily takes Bobbi's hand.

"C'mon you, bedtime."
