He's got a level two fairy box now, and it's adequate, but still grumpy about the level 5. It wouldn't have happened if he had already given her her amethyst of the day, but she ran into him just as he was about to equip it to give to her.

Oof, I think I just felt physical pain. :defeated: I'd love a toggle option to have confirmation dialog for some actions, like there is for eating food and exiting the mines. Namely going *down* mine ladders/staircases, and giving gifts. More than a few times I've accidentally gone down a ladder that just opened up when I was only trying to eat. I think we've all done the accidental gift at some point. :grumpy:

Completely unrelated but someone might find this useful: if you're on PC playing through Steam and have been having trouble with the lag spikes in some of the recent updates, try putting Steam in offline mode. I had no internet over the weekend and was fiddling with things, discovered offline mode and noticed the lag spikes vanished. I'm guessing you'll want to have online mode now and then to sync your saves with the cloud - and obviously to let the game update - but I'm definitely not an expert. I didn't even know Steam had an offline mode. 😆

So, update on Paddy's farm. He has left grampa's shrine at three candles and is relying exclusively on mined iridium. 17 Crystalaria mill out Jade for staircases, and this keeps him in enough iridium that it is still gold, not iridium, that slows crystalarium production for the diamond shed.

Mastery track is complete.

There's 144 crop tiles on the mainland farm, typically devoted to the large fruit of the season or to wheat. The Greenhouse has however many tiles it does when iridium sprinklers are deployed efficiently, growing cactus, strawberries, blueberries, and a couple of other things.

The GI farm has 144 tiles devoted to ancient fruit, which is much nicer to work with using the iridium scythe. I'm cramming as many kegs as I can into the GI farmhouse.

Abby gave Paddy an Amethyst which he promptly regifted to her. Please don't try this with a spouse IRL, it will get you in hot water, but in SV, it works just fine.

You *can* still get swarmed, especially if there are lots of enemies, so it is not a perfect solution. I also generally prefer the basilisk paw as I hate status effects, but if I'm doing skull cavern where the only monsters that can inflict status effects are slimes, the slime charmer ring is actually more beneficial since they also can't inflict any normal damage.

Finally got a giant cauliflower, this is my setup with deluxe retaining soil at all relevant spots. (The potato is there to replace the one cauliflower I had to spare to make juice for the raccoons.

Paddy finally got his stick of "I glitched off the map in the volcano dungeon and I don't want to wait to pass out" from Krobus.

He's got 144 Kegs for 144 ancient fruit on GI. He crammed 136 of those into the farmhouse. Eight more are just outside.

It's Friday the 12th in spring and Abby's already prattling about how, just because they're married, she isn't going to show him any mercy at the Egg Festival.

Paddy: You're a grown-up woman, married with two kids, and you're still going up against Jas and Vincent for painted eggs?

Abby: {opens mouth, emits white noise}

Paddy: I found an Egg! {Hands Abby a void egg from one of the Witch's unloved chickens}

Abby: What kind of gift is this?!?!

Paddy: Last year Jas told me how she was hoping to find some eggs, so yeah, you can consider that your lump of coal from the Easter Bunny.

Paddy spent the day of the Egg festival on Ginger Island, kegging Ancient Fruit.

There’s the statue of perfection and the statue of true perfection.
the statue of perfection you get for passing grandpa’s evaluation at the end of year two. It has been in the game from the beginning. The 1.5 update added perfection as a concept, with 100% everything. You get the statue of true perfection from Mr. Qi when you reach that.

Found a Tye Die Shirt. Thank you random bat in the mines who dropped it for me - I now only have one shirt and one hat left to find, plus the amusing mental image of a bat in a little tye die shirt. :cool:

Also realized that targeted bait works in crab pots, and you can actually make targeted bait out of the shell-type fish like cockles. I love that I can still find stuff I've missed in this game. :heart:

sheesh. you guys are so far ahead of me i can't imagine it. one of my games i made it to level 50 in skull cavern. oh well...
had to edit, i am on summer 2, need tiger trout to complete community center. but trying to build the mill. needed cloth to do that so built a llom. new stuff and where do i put it??? i guess i play slow.

Cloth from mummies works for the mill too. I had a farmer who did that.

Found a new set of quotes from Abby in the married life. Not sure if it's random fixed, or from a high mood.

I'm debating whether to try to pick up the pieces from my pre-1.6 save and try to get it up to the new perfection requirements. I can still access the summit without incurring Mr. Qi's wrath and I have everything maxed out in that file before 1.6 dropped for the first time. It's currently sitting at Summer 19 year 6 with nothing changed from before 1.6. I know it's going to be a real slog if I go for it, but I'm not sure if I want to leave it sitting either. It's my first file and it's something I worked hard on learning the basics and everything else of the entire game.

Got a Neat Bow Shirt from chopping down trees, which while being exactly a rare as a Tye-Die Shirt, goes to show that rarity isn't the only determiner of value. I'll stick with the mystery shirt for now, thanks. (Now if there were a PRISMATIC Neat Bow Shirt, that'd be an entirely different story!)

Also caught both Angler and a Lava Eel on the same day, getting my value out of one of the Dish o' The Seas I got from the Master Fisher bundle. Angler immediately went into my old crab pond, and once Robin is done with my Barn the next job will be a pond for the Lava Eel right next to Crimsonfish and my Octopi. Gonna put this premium riverlands farm space to work! (The plan is all the legendary fish and the fish from the "Master Fisher" remixed bundle)
