OK Emily wins. Emily always wins but then Bobbi always wins too because she's married to Emily, but we're wandering off topic.
They had a chat in the morning which is Bobbi's weakness as Bobbibrain usually doesn't turn on fully until about 9:30 or so. PM. Emily's such a cheater taking advantage of lesser able persons like that. Anyway Emily wins because she knows when to ask oh so sweetly for things so Bobbi bought her the heater for her Clothing Shop. Not remembering that Bobbi said she'd buy Pam one first, but also not remembering this in time to say anything, as that would have been a
bad thing. Sometimes not remembering saves your butt.
"Ooo it's so nice and toasty in here but maybe we could just have used the fireplace instead of adding a heater in here." It is good there is no Bobbi portrait because it would not be overly flattering, as she now notices with quite the annoyed look that there indeed was always a fireplace and now that she thinks about it, it was never particularly cold in the shop. Some Farmers let things fade into the background when they finally are able to focus on something for a short while after many days of procrastination. Bobbi sighs.
"Um, so dear, I notice the Spirit's Eve costumes are still out," Emily continues, again discerning things that Bobbi was
just about to get to. Or probably notice. Real soon. "While I love the choices and we did a good business this year, maybe it's time for some warmer styles?" Bobbi agrees, still catching up. She'd been thinking of what to feature as she'd spent some time coming up with a warm early Winter style for herself, starting with her prized Tiger Hat.
So she spent the day taking down the costumes, most of which would be re-used next year, and finally committed to building the stockroom behind the fish tank, full of 4 big chests, one per season's outfits. Fall's costumes still left a lot of space for more next year which was a relief. This might be a good plan.
The following day wanting to bounce some ideas off Emily, Bobbi couldn't find her in the house. This was a typical occurrence as Emily was a master hide 'n seeker but in a twist of serendipitous fate, Bobbi remembered something. From earlier that day. Emily was gonna help at the Saloon after stuffing the kids fulla food and then their beds fulla kids.
It was fun to see everyone not on a special occasion and Bobbi chatted her way around even though she wasn't the best at it. I really should do this more often, she thinks. But of course this was an excessive use of brain so fashion questions would need to wait until morning. Afternoon. Maybe evening, we'll see.
The next day after no questions happened, Emily wordlessly grabbed a liberal amount of her wife, enough to take control of the positioning and locomotion systems and with barely a minimum of shoving and the occasional love pinch, positioned Bobbi in a comfy chair in the reading nook and asked what she wanted to discuss.
"What?" Bobbi protests during this highly irregular yet quite enjoyable womanhandling. "Un
hand me madam, I am a free being!" All the while Emily's lips are pursed in an attempt to suppress the giggles. That is not one of Emily's strengths and predictably she fails but no matter, eventually the squirming capybara was wrestled into its makeshift cage.
"You wanted to say something last night. At the Saloon. Or ask me something?" A completely blank look from Bobbi, facing up at her wife. Emily is quite familiar with this. The brain hidden beneath perhaps only a slightly thicker than average skull would, with difficulty, wade through the peanut butter of her memory and eventually make it to the other side.
"Oh!" Bobbi exclaims brightly, eyes now open wide and straightening up as much her frame allows. "Yes! I'm starting with warm hats and then I'll work my way down with coats and shirts and blouses from Sandy and then pants and dresses." Words tumble out as if Bobbi is trying to free them before they decide it's too cold out and hibernation is the proper choice. "I got so many of them this year and they're always an afterthought, so this year they're the stars of the collection!" A pause. "And they keep the snow off your face." An exaggerated Bobbi wink. "Functional."
"That's a great idea, let's get started!" Emily enthuses. "But next time will you remember to take the Bus?" Bobbi's brow furrows trying to parse this request and her mouth opens slowly to respond. Too slowly, as Emily clarifies before Bobbi makes a sound, "so I can come too and see Sandy! And I'm not taking any of those magic zappo things the Wizard loves to overcharge you for, I remember what happened last year!"
Bobbi and Emily discuss options but as it's already pretty late, they only knock out a few ideas. Everything needs to start somewhere though and things are coming along, hopefully the burgeoning Winter section can open in another day or two.
