Hi there! I just found this post when searching for mentions of the Banties and Quail for Adopt 'n' Skin mod -- have you worked on that one and/or reached out to the author Hollowstyx? The perms section says "You are allowed to use the assets in this file without permission as long as you credit me" and "If anybody wants to make a CP or BFAV version of these or recolor more tiny chickens feel free, just credit me for the sprites and link back here please" so I was thinking of doing a version for 1.6 -- I love these little guys!
