Give a Farmer Work Boots and they can work their farm for a year. Teach a Farmer to grow Work Boots from seed and they will work for a lifetime.

To run with the Work Boot Seeds idea.... I now kind of want a mod where you grow your equipment. Like how fruit trees give better quality fruit over time, you could have a sword tree that started out with Rusty Swords and gradually produced more powerful ones. You could have wild bushes with a 'Ring Season', like salmonberry and blackberry seasons - summer could give you a crop of glow rings.
It'd probably be unbalanced and maybe not workable, but could be fun.
