WORK BOOTS UPDATE!

I'll hazard a guess that like a lot of stuff you can buy from the Guild, the remix items are going to unlock as purchasable after a particular point? Like how once you've completed a monster hunter goal and claimed the reward you can then buy more of them, or some things only show up after you've reached the bottom of the mines. 🤔

I enjoy treasure fishing regardless but making the Work Boots multi-buyable does solve my internal dilemma of whether to customize & wear them or place them in a shrine and just look at them forever, if I found them. 😆

Definitely happy to aquire the remix weapons, then I'm only missing a few from the Desert Festival, just have to wait for the right NPC vendors to roll around.

Still working on the portraits...

EDIT: Oooh you know what would be neat? If you could trade a bunch of old equipment to Gil to get the remixed or rarer stuff. Even if it was a big number, it'd be achieveable but still feel more like you 'earned it', so to speak. I'd happily trade a chestful of common boot types for a pair of Work Boots, or Bone Swords for a Femur. :toothy:

On second thought is this some sort of sign that the creator of Stardew is hanging up his “work boots” on further developing the game after all these years? He did mention he was done with it. Not “officially” but said he’s ready to move onto other projects like HC.

We can now buy perfection…we can now buy work boots. It’s all in our hands now.

The End.

They'll probably just appear when you get to the level where you'd unlock the thing, so say I get to level 90 and receive the holy blade, I'll now be able to buy the obsidian edge, but no sooner.

I honestly don't remember if the beta patch notes mention it but this is the most logical. They could also just unlock in bulk once you get to floor 120 but I feel like that would be catering to collectors alone rather than everyone who gets a bad weapon and wants something they like more at the expense of cold hard cash

To be fair, cold hard cash is overrated

I think the only items left that are still remix-only are the Femur and the Elf Blade. So not so much bulk, really. :toothy:

Now if there was only another way to get the Boat painting and the Joja Cola machine... 🤔

Like some others have mentioned, I hold out hope that the various items unobtainable thanks to game choices will eventually become available through similar methods like the Adventurer's Guild or even some of the other v1.6 additions (there are quite a few new item source options). I'm pretty sure CA doesnt want to frustrate us intentionally (see: this topic!), only that keeping every detail of the game in his head at once is impossible, so with a few nudges the otherwise Unobtanium will eventually become accessible through reasonable means.

I've come to believe that ca is fair to his fans, and part of making things fair is enjoyable, and for some, but not all, fun is challenging. He's got a tuff job and I hope he loves it, bc he has millions of fans

The old save files cannot get exclusive items from new save files such as the 'Boat' painting is one, but there's also the dilemma that new save files cannot get exclusive items from old save files.

I'm also trying my best to get Seaweed of higher qualities on this new save because I saw that the higher qualities one are removed in 1.6, and then you can obtain the Weeds item in the past by chopping down Mushroom Trees, or Stardrop as a chestable item. It sucks to know that if I did everything correctly I could theoretically have a save with truly everything in my chest, but this is not something I blame Eric lol, at this point it's just my overly perfectionist way stressing myself out haha. I think if an item is intended to be discarded, even though in older saves you can have them in the past, it's fine if they are no longer possible.

It'll definitely be cool if we have some ways to get everything though. I'm down to see how Eric implemented them all in the future (should he decide to!). Soda Machine/Stardew Hero Trophy paradoxically in my opinion would be a weird thing to have obtainable on one save because this feels like you explicitly chose a path forward and got the reward for it. If you then get the other reward too, then what is the meaning of that choice?

On a second thought, I would love if there's a "trading" functionality in the game. Player can visit other players' world/farm in a non farmhand help multiplayer fashion, we can trade exclusive items a la the Traveling Cart and thus absolve the need and dilemma of getting exclusive items relying strictly on a single save file... but we keep the mystic of those items and the thematic fit for certain items as well.

No? I think those are added to the guild just as much as any of the others, doesn't make sense for some to be excluded, even the rusty sword itself is added there now
I think I've missed something here... I've been going by the wiki list, femur and elf blade are the only weapons I'm missing on my current save (I'm in 1.6.8) that are unobtainable without dynamic-seed-fiddling because they're remixed-mines-reward-only. What else is there? I need to update my ticky boxes.. 🤔

When I was delving into this topic two years ago, I believe Femur, Elf Blade and Ossified Blade are the unobtainable ones with non-remixed mines pre 1.6.x. You are right, Ossified Blade post 1.6 can be obtained some other ways as well. Elf Blade and Femur to my knowledge are still exclusively remixed mines (pre Guild Updates).

I believe the Holy Blade was remixed-only before 1.6 as well, it's a monster drop in the lower levels of the mine now. Ossified Blade was also remix-only but can now be found in gold mystery boxes. Hmm.

Ah.. @FilthyGorilla , did you mean the Guild will also have the stuff you currently can only get one of without seed-fiddling - the Rusty Sword etc? 🤔

Yes.

In 1.6.9 all of the mines exclusives (that have no current way of getting them on a save that doesn't get it from the chest) will be added to the adventurers guild merchandise when you get to the appropriate level in the mines that you'd otherwise unlock them at.
