Beach farm prevents sprinklers from working, which means you have to manually water the majority of your crops.
Beach only prevents sprinklers on the sand. There's a decently-sized patch (that does need clearing with an upgraded axe) that can be sufficient for your farming needs, meaning that you can utilize all that sand for animals and the grass they like for food, not to mention sheds and fish ponds. Once you get the greenhouse
and Ginger Island you'll have more farming space than you need that can utilize sprinklers as well. Also, late game you can get the Deluxe Retaining Soil which only requires watering once.
