During my first playthrough, before understanding that villagers were sorted in two categories (marriage candidates/the others), I believed that Caroline would be a nice partner for my character. I still think this.

As for male NPC, Marlon and Willy would make interesting ones. I love Linus as a character, but I don't think he would like to engage.

As for guys, Marlon or Willy seem like they would be interesting, but definitely, above all, the guy who mans the "Smashing Stone" attraction from the stardew valley fair.
