Oooh, good to know! Because I only use Upgraded Sprinklers, I practically never get them. One of these days I'll do iridium sprinklers to see what the fuss is about..
Iridium sprinklers make a difference. You need fewer of them for the same area, and it makes it easier to plant crops that grow on a trellis. Trading a 3x5 quality sprinkler area for 2x3 iridium sprinklers free up 9 spots from sprinklers, and if you can widen your planted area by one row you gain 15 more spots there.

Got a good haul of calico eggs at the Desert Festival. Bought the magic rock candy on day 3, got the weapons from Harvey and Alex, and also Alex' hair gel trinket. Also reached the monster eradication goal for mummies. Two prehistoric floors got me closer to the goal for pepper rex, but of the treasure rooms found in 3 days the best thing was a golden animal cracker. In part it feels like I wasted my time there, delaying mushroom and tapper harvests by 2 days, in part it doesn't. The predictor says it will take until year 19 until Alex holds a booth at the festival again. I probably won't use the hair gel trinket, but it's nice to have if I want to make a trinket collection. Same thing with the weapons.

My stacks of artisan goods are growing. In particular, the stack of aged Legend II roe is almost full. Maybe about time to sell off some stuff and get the golden clock.

I decided to try my first mod and installed Stardew Voices: appropriately enough, the first person I talked to was my first save's wife, Penny. :D She talked about libraries and books and thanked me for the dandelion. I again failed at my Year 1 Spring 3 attempt to get a catfish. Suppose I'll wait for that next rainy day....

I ... murdered my slime babies by accident today 😭 . I play on mobile and have auto-attack turned on, and I forgot to drop off my Infinity Blade in a chest before I went to put a new egg in the incubator. Then, then I forgot to reset the day. So ... time to rejigger the interior of my slime hutch to make accidental culling of slimes less likely...

Something like this?

The time I made a slime hutch, I used a design much like that, only with giving them the space all the way to the southern wall. Keeps them and you safe. Just remember to put down some kind of flooring to avoid slime balls spawning inside their enclosure.

After two intense days of gaming, Farmer Ray has arrived just before Spirit's Eve. Beach Farm isn't that easy to play for me; without animals, earning money is always a bit tricky at the beginning. Still don't know what to do with this large sandy area...But this is the game of firsts... Thanks to the remixed bundles, the greenhouse (I usually don't get it before spring year 2) was the first to be completed this time, , but nothing else in it yet, except for a few fruit trees. That's a winter task. The boiler room and crafts room are nearing completion, so the most important benefits have already been achieved in year 1, which is an absolute first for me. The house has received its first upgrade and the tools have already arrived at Steel. Fishing is also going great, the first time that the fish for the aquarium bundles are caught rather than bought. Luau and Valley Fair were complete successes, right from the start. Exploring the mine is also progressing well. Only friendships aren't working out so well yet; the young people are still a little reserved, just like my farmer. But by the second year of the Flower Dance, surely someone will come along. 🤷

Oh! Will the incubators only hatch the new slimes below them? That's awesome if so. Ok, definitely going to rejigger my rejigger to be something like this. I do have flooring and fencing down for exactly that reason, but the incubators were fully enclosed. Thanks for the tip!!

Yes, you can load the incubators from behind them, and the slime always comes out the front.

I sold off some stuff. Ancient fruit wine, aged Legend II roe, and dried purple mushrooms, one full stack of each. Also sold off the melon wine and the powdermelon jelly, as I had over 100 of each and it's not something I consider in mass production. Made the numbers bounce. :proud: It gave me just enough to buy the golden clock and a return scepter, but not enough left over from that to get the last obelisk. My farm's earnings more than trippled from that one sale.

Increased my dehydrators to 30. Might transfer some of the hot peppers and grapes from my Ginger Island farm and use them if I start to run out of mushrooms. Though I think I need to add more dehydrators for that to happen before I increase the mushroom logs and mystic trees enough to keep up with the demand.

Bought a 3rd rabbit, and sold off my duck. Should go and get the secret statue before I sell off the duck mayonnaise.

Took on the Four Precious Stones quest, and have found 3 of them. 2 days remain, and 2 mystic stones. I've also got a dangerous Skull Cavern quest so I could get one from there instead. Not like I need the reward from the quests, having bought all the recipes already, but it's nice to have a reserve, in case I want to make a mushroom tree grove or something.

Chopped some Giant Melons expecting guaranteed Secret Notes, but didn't get any. I guess the wiki is wrong again? Or a playstation bug?
Nevermind, I think I figured it out. Wiki says 100% chance of a Secret Note from a Giant Crop, but then there's another modifier making the chance less than 100%. I guess.

So, what's the bestest way of getting Secret Notes I wonder? Skull Cavern runs?

You could do that, but I tend to find most of those around the valley. In the quarry (mostly from the artifact spots there, I admit), chopping trees, or in the mine looking for boulders for gathering rocks.

You could also make treasure totems to make sure you get a lot of artifact spots. 11% chance for each to make an attempt at spawning a note.

Hey this is a great idea, why didn't I think of that? Definitely the way to go. I'll simply craft a whole bunch of'm and if I don't get my note I can just restart the day until I do.

Thanks for your input.

See, the thing is, I only need 1 more Secret Note, and it's #10, which is the only one I wanted in the first place. Funny how THAT worked out :/

The reason is because I want to make it to floor 100 of the Skull Cavern without using too many staircases this time, as I've never done that. And it's Note #10 that gives you that quest. That's all :)

Rare Green Logo 2.jpg
Trying Maximum Luck for a certain ring.jpg

Caught another rare green logo, and attempted, and failed, to go for a lucky ring in the skull cavern, had a max luck day and all other best possible luck buffs.

Do I need to turn off the shrine next time? Will that help adjust the loot pool?

Also, since the game never lets our spouses come into the mines with us, or do much of any other activities together outside the farmhouse and festivals, this sign layout is how I compensated.

I planted tons of cauliflower in hopes of getting a giant crop but not happening yet. Also doing the bug meat quest for Willy. I've been visiting the sewer every day but the ridiculous bugs don't regenerate if you leave and come back. That's just sad.

The 48 coffee plants I put down during Spring has given me quite a harvest of coffee beans, and I'm still in the first week of Summer. I should make one cycle of coffee making in between wine cycles for a few weeks, but remembering to do it is a different matter. The spare ancient seeds I planted in Spring have also started to bear fruit, unfortunately one day after the main harvest and wine cycle start, but it's no big deal.

Cooked almost all dishes, but realized I hadn't saved any rhubarb for the rhubarb pie. Turned what I didn't ship for the polyculture achievement into wine before the greenhouse was up to speed. Ginger Island to the rescue, and now I just have to wait for the seeds to grow and ripen.

Went down the Skull Cavern to look for lucky rings and the remaining serpents (and pepper rexes) for the eradication goal. No rings, and no completion of goals. No treasure rooms with worthwhile loot either. The quarry mine rarely have even one barrel in it, so no luck in finding lucky rings there either, only a bunch of aquamarine and ruby rings from the haunted skulls, and 3 cursed mannequins. Too bad the quarry mine only regenerates during the night.

The adoption agency dropped off our new baby girl, so now it's just a matter of time before I can remove the crib to make space for more toys.

On my oldest save (Spring year 4) I knew I had a rainy day coming, so I set out to try to catch the Legend. I had hooked him once before but my skillz were inadequate, so this time I went for Dish of the Sea and a cork bobber. It was a lowest luck day, but I figured what the heck. It took me two tries, but I got him! I then went by the river and picked up a catfish for the Trash Bear and wandered around looking for leeks for the quest which for once I got early in the month.

Since I was near the secret woods I thought I'd stop by and grab some hardwood and in the process casually slew a bunch of green slimes...one of which dropped a prismatic shard! This is my fourth prismatic shard in this save and I haven't even been to the Skull Cavern yet. I guess I'll be going in style! In my other save where I'm only in year 3 but am a bit further ahead and have been to Skull Cavern, etc., I have no prismatic shards. (On the other hand, in the prismatic shard save I only recently got the final Dwarf Scroll, while the no shard yet save is swimming in the things.)
