Met the target for both days of the Squid Fest, and handed over 15 Angler roe to get the greenhouse restored. Paid Robin to start the second house upgrade shortly before having to stop and charge my phone. Thanks to remembering Harvey's birthday, I managed to both have my only "annual" checkup and catch him in the aerobics class on the same day. With the Night Market about to start, it's time for me to start working on the Master Fisher bundle. Will also need to work on some more of the monster hunter goals.

I had a similar situation where on every save the octopus was the last fish I needed and then I randomly caught it in the submarine in y1. I didn't even know it was possible back then

For the first few years (irl) that I played this game, I thought the octopus was bugged because Living Off the Land tells you they spawn in the ocean during the Summer but I only ever caught them using the submarine at the Night Market in the Winter. I've made at least ten farms at this point and I've only caught the octopus at the beach once. Every other one has been at the Night Market.

I recently started a new save (just started Fall, Year One) and got an eel out of a trash can at the start of Summer. I hadn't known specialty fish could spawn in them.

Farmer Ao is on a Wilderness Farm (L.O.C.K. farm). Standard CC and mine rewards (since I didn't have to go into advanced settings to turn on monsters, I completely forgot about that whole section 😄).

Ao just got the first house upgrade and then immediately hired Robin to upgrade his Big Coop to a Deluxe Coop. He's dating Sam. He has two rooms completed in the Community Center and is close on three others (has not touched the Vault yet). He's upgraded to a copper hoe, his axe is currently being upgraded to iron, and his watering can and pick are already iron. He has two silos in addition to the coop, and no other buildings yet. He's also got a dog, a bat cave, five fruit trees, two bee hives, and five mushroom logs.

It's Winter now and I made some progress on GI. Gave the Shrine all the Gems needed, made the Gourmant Frog happy and gathered enough walnuts for having rebuild both, the Hut and the Beach Resort. At the farm I make good money with the Fish Ponds this time, reached Level 10 in Fishing so far and I'm soooo proud of me!!! Usually Fishing is the last one, but this time it's Combat... But Mastery Cave is near. I skipped the Ice Festival this year and did a Skull cavern Run instead, with Magic Rock Candy. Found at least four Treasure Rooms with a White Turban, a red Slime Egg, an Auto-Grabber and two Rain Totems... and lots of stones, gems and geodes. Much more entertaining than standing at beside an icehole and waiting for the fish to swim by... Don't know what to do with the Slime Egg, since non of my farmers like slimes or breeding them, maybe ETB would make a deal? And I have to decide whether to build the House for Pam and Penny before Feast of the Winter Star or save the money and buy the Return Scepter from Krobus instead...tough choice 🤔 Btw, as the only Bachelor with 8 hearts left, Harvey plays hard to get this time. Think I have to wait for his birthday to get the Ballon Ride...

Slime eggs are good for selling, selling for at least twice as much as the ingredients you put in the slime egg press. I think it's a good way to get rid of excess slime.

I reached year 2, with Mining and Combat lagging behind at level 9. The community center got completed shortly after the pig unearthed a truffle, but the restoration scene had to wait an extra day because of the weather. Now farmer Cecilia has better work on building those relationships to avoid losing out on the 2 hearts gained from the bulletin board restoration. With only two villagers on the "can be ignored" list, this could take a while. Then again, it will take a while to gather the stuff for the boat, apart from the batteries. Most of a year left until I can get a constant source of iridium.

On the last days of fall, I finished all the monster slayer goals, actually completed the expended family quest (way better luck than last time) and finally purchased my first non-vanilla dino egg. Yes after 2 irl months since I first talked about it. Also I said that it'll be the dinosaur coop, but turns out you need to incubate them in the ostrich incubator, so it'll be the dinosaur barn. And now I have an empty fully upgraded coop, I guess I'll put ducks and rabbits in there.
Robin is working nonstop building fish ponds for me. I have two with angler and his wife, slimejack, sturgeon, the legend 2 and a radioactive carp one.
My banana tree has grown so in 10 days I'll have everything i need for the obelisk. Took Jodi to the movie theatre and got another poster

Did some decorating in the expanded corner room, going for a magic library turning into junimo forest kinda thing

Imho you don't need the ostrich incubator for Dino eggs. Just put them in the regular one in your barn, that should work. Takes a bit of time, about half a season I think, if you're coopmaster a bit less.

Invisible Prismatic Butterfly?!

I got the Butterfly Blessing, and walked into Cindersap Forest, and got the money for finding the butterfly, but it wasn't actually visible.

I have footage. This seems to explain why some people have a tough time finding it sometimes. It's there, you just can't see it!

Qi's crop quest appeared perfectly on the first of winter - my fields are free and I was planning to cut down all the trees in the bottom left corner of my beach farm. Also I have the full season to do the quest. So I loaded up my geodes crushers with ≈120 geodes and got to choppin'. Got plenty of qi beans from all of that and put them in junimo huts for my little junimos to plant. They asked for 6 wool, probably to keep them warm and as I delivered that agreed to work in winter. Built the earth obelisk, just for perfection tracker, I dont think I'll be using it. Trying to keep my :g: above a million so I can get the island obelisk as soon as I get all the bananas. Saw Shane's 8 heart cutscene (I love this one a lot) and right after got myself two blue chicks along with a bunch of rabbits and ducks for my unused coop.
Made the attic into a mini-greenhouse and started growing pumpkins for Abby. Also planted a weird spiral of tea saplings next to my bee houses. I don't remember when and where I got this idea but wanted to do it for a while. Remembered that I have a slime hutch, so checked it and it was completely full with slimeballs, so i collected all of the slime, killed some green ones and started putting different colored eggs in the incubator, I want to see what colours can they get from breeding.
Robin keeps working on my fish ponds. There's never enough. At least that's what I thought while playing on my first ever farm, cuz it ended up looking like this
