1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Rolled dice between my remaining choices, and now I'm trying out the Hilltop farm. Just won the Egg festival. Also tried the option for remixed bundles for the first time.
Ah, you've chosen mining. A fine choice. The terrain is very rough, and it'll take time to fully use all the functions of the land. You're playing a waiting game with it. It should offer you a nice challenge, trying to make sense of your space.

Thanks. I have an idea of where to put some of the buildings. Quickly realized that the area next to the farmhouse was not good for crops pre-sprinkler. Currently hoping I've got enough for the amount of summer seeds I want to buy. Should have it, if I sell the wild spring seeds I've made and some of the strawberries. I'm a bit of a hoarder of crops, especially pre-Tiller. Have yet to make a chest for the summer stuff, but there will be one.

Did some reloading (and then waiting for the next day) when the cauliflowers refused to give me a gold quality specimen. Finally got one on the 28th.

Scored another Giant Cauliflower that I think I'll keep this time.

Abby is getting plenty of practice in the dangerous mines. If only she could join me in them and we could tag team against everything, except for the spiders, I'm sure.

And with this, I think I have pictures of every possible festival that the whole family attends all at once. The kids never go to the Luau for some reason.
they should, they're at the dance floor, which is to the left of the luau area

yeah, always check to make sure that your crops won't rot (use this formula (current day) + (time it will take for crop to grow) < 29 (if it's false, don't plant it, if true, you'll come close, it's < 29 as there's 28 days in a season) also, you could post 500 posts in one day, it's okay

Finally got that blasted Pepper Rex monster eradication goal. I had four left, so I just spammed staircases until I got a prehistoric floor. I lucked out on floor 9, so I could actually go back to the farm and finish my daily tasks. And now I wont have to set a foot in there until I start another save :toothy:

I just dislike it so much when important things are locked behind RNG.

The good news is that my perfection run is almost done. I only need one last fish, one last craft (both fall-dependent), pay to waive the golden clock requirement (not enough patience left to farm another 5M gold), and then boom! Perfection. Should take me around one week game-time. Too bad the achievement is not retroactive. I already got perfection on my 1.5 save, wish it would count. Am I the only one who finds late game to be boring? Once my farm is all set up and running I struggle to find any incentive to play. I'd rather play ten Y1 than one Y10.

Anyways, enough rambling. See you on the fields :clover:

edit: yeah, i've never gotten past Spring Y3. Generally that's when I get married, which ties up the last loose end, and I start anew.

I've probably played more Spring 1s than every other month/year combined

You're right. I'm guessing there was a change in one of the more recent patches because the last few times I was at the Luau, the kids were totally absent. Either that or it's been longer since my last odd-numbered Luau than I remember.

Looks like I've got a little more more album farming to do.

Today, after years and years of attempts, I beat my iridium ore record! (Previously was 999+999+725). I went on a “very happy!” luck day, +1 ore from nodes and crit chance from statues, and ate two magic rock candies. Eventually I hope to reach three 999 stacks of iridium, but even this took SO many tries, I don’t know if that’s possible for me. Playing on switch with a controller. Wish that staircase buffering was easier, but the best I can manage is 100 floors every 50 in game minutes (and that’s doing it perfectly, which doesn’t happen often). I also wasted time bombing floors with just 4 or 5 nodes. Room for improvement for sure…

Idk if you mind spoilers, that's the Skull Cavern, the Mines in the desert which literally has no bottom. About that staff, it's called the Return Sceptor, it can take you home in just a second

Purple and gold is the return scepter, it teleports you to your house and has infinite uses unlike warp totems.
Blue one is one of the trinkets - you unlock them from combat mastery

Got a fishing quest and got to let Abby see it in action.

Seb's got a hankering for cave carrot calzone. I would love one of those myself.

Abby and the gang at JotPK Motion Picture. (side note: I'm trying to see all the reactions of NPCs who love specific movies and I whiffed my timing yesterday and now have to choose between Vincent and Caroline next week. Might need a new file or some redone days since there's at least 9 who love Wumbus. Sandy and the Dwarf don't count since they love every movie and some NPCs don't have any loved movies at all.)
