1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Today, Abigail ordered a piece of furniture for the first time in 4 and a half years of marriage, and unfortunately, it doesn't fit any of the aesthetics anywhere on the farm: a purple office chair.

But purple is her color, so I'll hopefully find some way to make it work somewhere.

For reference, here's what my farm and my only recreational shed look like right now. Lately, my primary focus of gameplay is getting a complete family photo album, which includes, but is not limited to, photos of Abby and both kids at every variation of festival that they all participate at. I'm almost done. Just need to get to the Even-year Flower Dance. I started with marrying Abby around the first Sunday of Fall Year 2. I always liked proposing to her in front of the Wizard's Tower.

(Maybe the Aquatic Sanctuary in the shed will have a fresh batch of Qi's Extended Family fish...)

Holy zoinky zorple, perhaps pursue a career path in civil engineering. All the optimization while still looking nice...
Also, is that a modded game? The farm layout seems unfamiliar to me, like a mix of river and standard.

I love all the different rooms being dedicated to different catalogues, it's probably my favorite use for them. I will say, though, the house is pretty chaotic, like you're trying a liiitle too hard to put the catalogues to use, trying to use every item possible. Of course, I do get the theming, like the wildness of the junimo room, but the kitchen and dining room seem really cluttered, like you found a bunch of decorations and didn't want to have them go to waste. I feel like the rooms are meant to be looked at, not used, but that could just be the optimiser in me talking.

... oh crap, I rambled again. I keep doing this thing, where I'll notice something I don't like, and end up rambling, and not realise I'm being a bit harsh. Ah, well.

isn't that the new Meadowlands farm?

The end of Summer, Year 6 sees the reforestation of the Train Crossing is just about complete:

Final Summer collection in Emily's Shop:

Bobbi_9-30-2025_18077222.png

Far left in front is Standard Styles available all-year, slowly changed out as I find something else I like. On either side of center and towards the right are tops purchased from Sandy on a mostly daily basis and with (and sometimes without!) dresses/skirts/pants to match. And the occasional hat. These are seasonal and will be swapped out for new styles tomorrow.

Far right front is Slime Hairdressers. Far right mid is swimwear. Far right back is dressing rooms. Center back is potions, oils, unguents and checkout. Back far left is gems and jewelry.

And of course this evening was the Moonlight Jellies:

It also holds Emily's family history which I started writing but there's a lot to go and my head's not been in a place for writing for quite a while. Maybe this'll help:

AGADABABAGDDGAAA how do people make stuff like this, in my 300ish hours of playing this game, I have never done anything like this, and gaming is one of the only things I do in my free time!

Thanks. And it's cool; I like a little constructive criticism now and then. I started this file shortly after 1.6 first dropped and was so enraptured by the new catalogues I just had to decorate as much as I could without cutting off walking circulation. I agree that the kitchen and dining room may be a little overboard on props. I may eventually reduce the number of plans here and there. I've been thinking about swapping some plants in the "Adventure Room" (the room in the southeast corner) with Desert Festival Cacti.

Also, I did nearly try to get a degree in engineering over 10 years ago, but I couldn't wrap my head around all the math involved. I guess I'm not completely rusty, though. lol.

Wait until you see what I did with my Ginger Island farmhouse, though. I also made a few updates to the aquatic sanctuary with the desert shed based on an article I found describing some fish animations.

And to add to an earlier answer, this is indeed the Meadowlands farm.

About to enter year 5. I hope to be able to slow down and have a source of passive income. Might farm a ton of Star fruit, just for the junimo huts. And in year 6, I'll plant a bunch of coffee beans around the huts, and make a bunch of money off of coffee... it's genius. Either that, or I plant a bunch of ancient fruit. Perhaps even Sweet gem berries in fall. Hmmmmmmmm

oh no
I don't think my feeble mind can take that
Too late. lol

Here's my Ginger Island farmhouse as of Spring 21 year 6. You seemed to indicate you like more open space. How's this?

In the second image, I took the treasure chest out of the tank to give a better view of the frogs inside it. My goal with that tank has been to take cues from Amphibia. The biggest challenge has been finding Frog Egg trinkets in all the most appropriate colors. So far, I have green, blue-green, and brown. Might change it up, looking for at least one of each of the remaining colors, red, yellow, blue, void, and prismatic (latter 2 for collection's sake) so I can eventually fill it with character colors. Any other fellow Amphibia fans who know what colors I should have? The red one is kinda orange, so he'll look like Hop Pop.

I'll admit I haven't entirely finished this house. I gotta add some more lights for one thing. I slowed down here at some point because I just don't feel at home in a place I can't bring the rest of my family to.

Maybe in 1.7...?

Here's the farm itself. Mostly ancient fruits but also some pineapple so I can keep up with ingredients. Left side dedicated to either taro roots or seasonal wild seeds, particularly if I don't get enough grapes in previous seasons.

This rain always makes me regret that I can't bring Abby to see the mermaid to the east of the island. She's stated numerous times how much she wishes to see one.

Got an iridium needle recently, just gave it maximum critical hit chance with 3 aquamarines.

Kinda wish I got more than one of Abby's Planchettes at one of the previous Desert Festivals so could dress it up and decide if I want to use it or the infinity dagger I already dressed up with the planchette. Now I have to wait until Year 8 before considering the opportunity.

Also just made a few changes to my layouts on Ginger Island.

I'mma have to go with "Trust the process." I've never been a creative person but I want to be and just starting putting things here and there (or when writing, just putting things down on the page) is the best way to start. Don't hate that it sucks at first (well my stuff all did) but keep doing it and making changes and trying things and you'll find that eventually you get to a place you like. Yeah steal some other people's ideas too but adapt them to make them your own.
