Hi everyone!
I’ve never modded before, but I decided to give it a try. I’m using a Windows laptop and playing Stardew Valley through Steam. The vanilla version of Stardew runs fine, but I’m having persistent issues with the Stardew Modding API (SMAPI). Despite following several pieces of advice from the Stardew Discord, Wiki, and the StardewMod subreddit, SMAPI keeps crashing and the Nexus mods aren’t working either. I have my mods in the folder they suggested (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods) but SMAPI does not show them, and then crashes after saying 'Waiting for game to launch'.
I’ve attempted to redownload SMAPI, reinstall Stardew, set my GPU to high performance, install .NET 6.0, and use 7-Zip, but nothing seems to resolve the issue. If anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it!
