Wellll a typhoon is about to come to China where I live
I think all of you guys know that you should put tape on the windows
And my dad posted a photo of some person gluing the character that means "wheat" on the window
At first I didn't get it, I was like "What was that for?"
My dad picked up my microphone
It took me like about 3 seconds to realize that:
"Microphone" in Chinese can be thought as "Wheat overcomes wind"
I'M DYING BECAUSE OF THAT XDDDDDD

Let me explain this as a Chinese native speaker

pronunciation of microphone in Mandarin = Mai Ke Feng
I think the translation originally came from English

Mai = Wheat
Ke = defeat/restrain/overcome
Feng = wind

Non-Chinese speaker can hardly get this 😂
Yeah exactly lolll
