Switch Items disappearing from (not full) inventory [v1.6.15 build 11 crafting bug]

I also have this issue on the Switch OLED. I just finished the Qi challenge in the regular mines and so I had plenty of frozen, magma and omni geodes maybe 80+ geodes in total. Then i tried to craft the Blue Starter Grass which has the Mystic Syrup as its ingredient. For some reason the workbench is telling me I have 200 mystic syrup when I only have one in stock. I still tried to craft it and it was too late when i noticed that my geodes were consumed lol and I only got like one blue grass starter even though i remember clicking like 5 times on crafting the item.

Hello,
I am missing a LARGE number of items from multiple chests. I would love a patch to fix this. It would be devastating to loose all of these items.

This all happened on December 29th.
Everything was fine the day before.

Missing many items from various chests
  • In one big chest I am missing about 26 different item types (number of each item varried) these were mostly various artifacts but also other items. (Dolls, ancient seeds, scrolls, the spoons n gears ext - all are gone)
  • In one small chest I am missing about 5 item types such as batteries. (number of each item varried)
  • In another small chest I am missing about 9 different items types such as totems. (number of each item varried)

Recent game activity
#1 Most recent in game activity:
It is current day 8 of winter in game of year 3. (This is my third farm. Ive been playing for years.)
I am unsure of exactly everything that is missing as I was doing a winter reorg of the BUILDINGS.
I was moving the full chests around my farm via wacking them with my pickaxe. So these are items that never left the chests and permanently stay in these specific chests. These chests are colour coded and I'm nerodically ocd about organizing these chests.
#2 Before that:
Year 3, Winter around days 1 to 3 - I was making some iridium sprinklers, paths and bee hives.
#3 Just before that:
Early to mid fall of year 3 - I got myself a Junimo hut.

Additional information:
  • I am using the Nintendo Switch 1.
  • In-game language is English
  • Single player.
  • Using attached Switch controllers.
  • v1.6.15 build 11
  • To the best of my knowledge I can not get you a save file. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Actions taken to try to correct this glitch
  • Switch and Game are both is up to date.
  • I have closed are restated the game.
  • I have restarted the Switch.
  • I have fully powered off and then restarted the Switch.
  • I am creating this thread for help 🙏

I’m having the exact same problem, playing on OLED Switch and everything is up to date. Only lets me craft one at a time, didn’t even have mystic syrup yet and it was showing I had well over 200. Not sure what it was consuming (other than moss and fiber) because I restarted the day.

just here to say I have the same issue. Will refrain from blue grass crafting/use until fixed

Yes!! I thought I was losing my mind. My coffees(among other things) kept disappearing. I was gaslighting myself into thinking I accidentally threw away 100+ coffees 3 times over. After the 3rd time I figured out what was going on.

it took me my second day to realize it was also using up resources. rip mystic syrup, ALL my moss (spring day was last week) and a few others. I felt like I was going crazy!

I also thought I was crazy or that I sold items by accident or thrown them into the trash, which would be weird because I have 1000+ hours on this game and never make mistakes like that. I lost a void pendant, a horse flute, and I have been crafting and cooking a lot to reach perfection so maybe it did get consumed while doing so like someone mentioned in the comments. I saw while crafting that some items were bugged, for example while cooking the moss soup it said I had 500+ pieces of moss available when I had 0. I play on switch 1, and it happened after the switch 2 update.

I also had a problem with the trinkets, I would swear some trinkets get modified, for example I had a void frog egg and when I took it to equip it, it became a blue-green frog, and I thought I was crazy so I went back to my chest and there was no void frog egg:cry:

I've been wondering why my horse flute, treasure boxes, golden coconuts, etc keep disappearing today, I found it's when I make wild bait. Fortunately I've caught it before ending the day so I could restart, and I've noticed that putting such items in a chest (out of my inventory) preserves them, but it's a bit of a tedious work around to remember every time.

I'm on Switch (1), started about 6 weeks ago so I'm thinking that's v1.6

I've had dragon teeth (noticed because I'm trying to build the obelisk) and my mermaid pendant disappear. Now my farmer can't get married because I'm on Switch and the mariner keeps telling me "don't be shy" when I try to buy another. It's really tragic. I'm on year 4 too so it feels like the whole thing is a waste and I need to start over

Same thing happened to me, playing on the switch, never modded ( don’t think you can on the switch) everything is up to date.

My problems

1)Can’t make more than just one of the blue grass at a time.
2) my whole chest full of artifacts… suddenly empty… 5 years in game of saving them; 24 chicken statues. Just gone….

I’m scared to check my other chests and just turned things off without saving… I hope there is a way to fix it or something… I know I might have lost everything forever but I’m hoping that’s not the case

My guess is that the wrong items are being consumed while cooking/crafting, because stuff has been going missing for me too on Switch 1 single player and I have 1000+ hours on the game, so I know I didn't sell it on accident. My horse flute disappeared, and maybe other things I didn't notice, while cooking and crafting a lot on the same day to help reach perfection.

I really hope it gets fixed soon, I’m scared to play my game and mess it up, but what you said makes sense… cause I could see things being use as I tried to make more blue grass… but the game would only give me one yet use my resources…

Okay, now I’m scared to continue playing. I thought only the crafting of blue grass starter was causing this problem. If other crafting are the same, I’m worried about having lost items I didn’t even noticed!

FYI, I’m playing on my Switch Lite. No plans to update to a Switch 2 yet.

Every bug, framerate drops and freezes began on the 1.6 update, as far as I can tell.

Version 1.5 used to be perfect.

I love stardew valley, but I’m so frustrated!! This is the second time my horse flute has completely disappeared, and this time it was THE DAY I bought it. I hate doing the qi quests but I busted my butt to get the 50 qi coins for the horse flute, for the second time. I woke up and it was missing from my backpack ): I checked all of my boxes like a maniac, and thought maybe I accidentally sold it but apparently it can’t be sold, I even restarted the day and it’s still gone I’m so upset I didn’t even have it for a full 24 hours before it disappeared
