1.6 Update I think i just spooked my wife?? lol

I was doing my work, yk, getting the goat's milk turned into cheese, the pig's truffles into oil, late game sttuf. And so I decided to go inside and talk to my wife (Penny)
And like, I didn't go to her side - I clicked to dialogue from behind her.
And she just?? Jumped with an exclamation baloon??? (literally just a "[!]" above her head)

I have NEVER seen this nor heard about it before. Can someone confirm if I have just spooked my wife? By trying to compliment her from outside her line of sight? Lmao
(And just for context in case of grammar errors: I am a non-native speaker.)

PS: Also, I am currently using the "Trimmed Lucky Purple Shorts" cause we gotta mock lewis, right? But I don't think it's related... Please, let me know your thoughts!

I do not think this is part of the “Trimmed Luck Purple Shorts.” I will have to ask @Lew Zealand , she knows everything. I’ve heard of the bubbles above the head for multiplayer. I did not know the marriage candidates could see it though.

You can get Trimmed Lucky Purple Shorts by finishing the gross Mayor's Shorts quest but keeping the Lucky Purple Shorts for yourself and then Tailoring them with a Gold Bar. Personally I want those to out of my sight ASAP so I return them to the Mayor held on the end of a long stick and I never think of them again. Even with my love of Tailoring and all the Gold Bars you end up with towards later game, I've still never done the Shorts Trim.

That said, there was a game bug which allowed you to get as many extra Lucky Purple Shorts you wanted by placing a Staircase in your Farmer's Pants slot, but this was removed in v1.6. However:

CA took the fun people had with this Shorts bug and made it into a minigame! Take that Staircase and instead place it on the floor of the Mayor's Manor and descend into his basement...

I wonder what the reward for solving the minigame will be?

I haven't done this to Emily yet but I suspect a v1.6 update added in a mechanic where you can surprise your spouse if you click on them (usually for the kiss or hug) but do it from the back. Like you surprise them? It's funny but I don't think I've ever done that to Emily though in reality I must have. You simply can't always approach them from the front or side, especially in our cluttered house where there's literally only single lanes where anyone can walk.

Having 130 Mannequins in the house for Tailoring and outfit perusal purposes will have that effect. Yeah, some people spend 1.5 Million g on magical teleportation Obelisks or Statues that lazily, er... magically produce Loved gifts on people's birthdays, or other such trifles.

But I need my Mannequins.

There is a labyrinth you need to get through, so it isn't all paths that are gonna lead you to the trim shorts, you gotta find your way there (and map it out, so you can go back to the surface)

There’s a bit of hidden maze in the Mayor’s basement like there is in the Spirit’s Eve maze. It took me a few tries before I found my way through.

On mobile there is a way to see if you can access a space by clicking it. It will either turn green and I will go to the space or it will turn red, and I cannot access it.

This is the one secret path that you can’t make easier by using tap to move. You’ll have to switch to joystick and button controls and find the way manually.
