Do you have any tips for the 80-120th floors? currently with a bone sword & templar's blade & steel pickaxe.
I did a research on the monsters and they are pretty strong.
1- If you find you can juggle the haunted skulls in the Quarry Mine easily enough, go back there occasionally, see if they drop the 3rd best sword in the game. Until then, use the Bone Sword. I've been told that defense from a weapon doesn't work properly... and while I have not plumbed the code to find out if it does or does not, anecdotally, I noticed no difference in the damage I took when alternating between the two weapons you're looking at.
2- Bring food, especially food that boosts speed, attack, defense and luck. If I'm really gearing up I bring along a stack of 5 roots platters, 5 triple espressos (eating food that gives buffs eliminates buffs from food previously in effect, drinking for new buffs eliminates buffs from previous drinks too, but you can have food buffs and drink buffs active at the same time) and then a stack of about 10 food that gives no buffs but plenty of healing (for healing without wasting food that buffs) like pink cake, fiddlehead risotto, pumpkin pie, rhubarb pie or coleslaw which are my faves.
3- Watch your health, but don't worry about it too much in order to keep moving.
4- Avoid combat you don't need to get into until you get to floor 90 where you will get another treasure chest (and another at 100 and 110 too), and it'll get easier after each one.
5- Once you do get to 120, make sure to go back to the Adventurer's Guild and get yourself a Lava Katana.

Getting a couple rings might be helpful, I dont know what do you have available, but 2 rings with 10% attack each might help!

Yes, actually. Here's my tip about saving energy while looking for ladders after you have upgraded to a copper pickaxe:
If you look at this image, you see a different kind of stone, with a black edging around it and a white middle (in the left). After you have a copper pickaxe or better it only takes 1 hit to destroy those rocks. However, in the mines the other rocks, if you do not have an upgrade, cost 2 hits. So break those rocks and save energy when looking for ladders!

If you're afraid of monsters you may wish to install SMAPI and get Pacifist Valley. It makes you hug monsters instead of being attacked by them. I understand that some users are as a general rule opposed to mods, but In your case you may wish to consider it.

The other users before me have given excellent advice, however, also consider crafting a bunch of staircases to get deeper in the mine without having to deal with as many monsters, though you will need to level your mining skill to 2 to do so. If you don't want to do this by going in the mine you can do it by breaking any rocks.

If you find yourself running into monsters, keep in mind it's harder to knock them back than other monsters. You'll want a weapon with some weight on it OR just like, don't stay in one place when you're swinging your sword because it'll probably run into you and cause damage
