How do I squeeze some better performance out of the game?

I'm running SDV on quite old (15 years ago this'd be standard) PC. Debian, nothing else in the background. Is there some way to squeak out more performance? Can I pull the resolution down to 480x848? Is there some setting I can press to lower the weight?

The biggest things in game are:
1. Zooming in (the game renders less on screen and it massively helps performance)
2. Not having a load of animals
3. Not having a load of things (mostly machines) that have animations in any one area

There’s some other stuff you can do too:
1. Don’t run too many other programs at the same time
2. Make sure to clean your pc (dust can massively hinder fan performance)
3. Run a cleaner program to get rid of viruses and bloatware slowing down your system

Most likely they will. I do sometimes note occasional momentary lag, but never enough to actually annoy me (though keep in mind that I'm old and think that minor lag is normal).

Hm. Do you also play on switch? I’d also say I think minor lag is normal, nor does it annoy me (unless I’m fishing or harvesting Ging Island AF). Perhaps I’m just used to it. However, the lags seem to be becoming steadily more frequent (crashes as well).

Yes, it's a Switch Lite, not sure if that makes a difference in performance.

Sometim when I play i turn grafic seting down on my tablet so it fine and work so it fine

Yep those apply to any platform, it’s just generally minimizing the amount the game has to process and save every night

lol! I grew up with a commodore as my first ‘gaming computer.’ Games could take 30-90 mins to load lol!
