PlayStation Frozen animals & mines

Playing split screen - Player 1 goes into the mines and it freezes often. No fix has been found aside from going out of the cave or going down a level to unfreeze.

Player 1 animals also freeze until we have to restart the game completely.

We have the same issue in the mines,
We play 2 player split screen, and maybe every trip to the mines a level or 2 will just freeze up, you can still mine the rocks and uncover a ladder, but any resource drops can't be picked up, and you either have to leave the mine or progress, sometimes we get 1-3 frozen levels in a row,

We haven't had an issue with frozen animals though

I've had this happen. All the mobs are frozen, drops spawn but freeze and can't be collected. Happens everywhere with monster drops, rock breaks, barrel/crate breaks, everything

Having this same issue in the mines- normal mine, skull cavern, but not sure about ginger island volcano, haven't made it there yet. I haven't encountered the frozen animals bug though.

I'm encountering this each time on random levels I visit the mines or skull cavern. It started showing up after one of the 1.6 updates. Everything is frozen (including animations).
It is still possible to find the ladder to go deeper simply by crushing stones (the stone turnes into loot and you can see the ladder appear). I'm not sure if this would be possible when there's a mob in your way.
As a workaround I would keep staircases at hand.
I will try to take a photo next time I see it.
