Please tell me, has anyone encountered this problem? I was doing Mr. Qi's quest and caught a Son of Crimsonfish before catching the main Crimsonfish. Now I'm not catching any Crimsonfish at all. Could this be the reason? I haven't caught any for two summers in a row.

Have you caught a crimson fish yet and just placed it in some random chest? I often do this: I place items that can only be obtained once per game in random chests somewhere near train tracks or somewhere else.

No, I didn't catch it; it didn't show up among the others. I only had one left to catch all the fish. This is my sixth year, and I think it might be a bug. I've seen a lot of videos about how easy it is to catch Crimsonfish. But I haven't caught any for two years now, even though I go to the pier on the private beach every day.

The wiki doesn't say anything about having to catch the father first and then the son. This fish can usually only be caught in summer, as I'm sure you know. Have you tried Magic Bait? That would make it possible to catch it all year round, if you don't already have it somewhere. That should be visible in your fish table.
