Switch Co-op Crashing Excessively (not related to the switch 2 update)

My boyfriend and I are long distance, we only can play online co-op as it is our only option. He plays on his Switch 2 while I host on my OLED Switch. We started a save and it would crash every once in a while in the middle of the day with no trigger to it. Its become frequent now and its made us stop playing, this was happening before the Switch 2 Upgrade update that already had a bug fix (thank you ConcernedApe for the fast fix on that). We have tried everything suggested and it still keeps happening. Had hoped that the bug fix would also fix this crashing bug but it didn't

If it helps, I've also been experiencing the same thing, using NS1 version on NS2, it seems to be related to cut scenes, or when one or both of us is entering or leaving an area, the bugs definitely increase in intensity and frequency after a few in-game days, we get some stuttering after 2 days or so and then it increases until the eventual crash to home. We play local splitscreen co-op, we're in EU though so we don't have the NS2 version yet!
