Clock Tower: A way to extend the day cycle

A town-based quest reward seems like the right idea due to multiplayer considerations.

Alternatives that would be fine in a single-player game:
Bedside alarm clock: wake up an hour earlier, maybe with the tradeoff of stiffer penalties for exhaustion; not a good idea because in co-op it might mean keeping some players stuck in bed.
Pocket watch accessory: Could be upgradable with a small increase in time scale per upgrade tier; not the worst option but the mechanics for co-op would probably mean either using the best player's bonus (making other player upgrades pointless) or taking the average (diminishing the relative effect of every player's upgrade).

The clock face on the Community Center presents a natural choice, maybe after the CC is restored, Clint sends a letter a few days later explaining what he needs to make a new bell for the clock tower. When it's done, we get an extra 1-2 real minutes per day.

The one hiccup with this idea is how it would work in the JojaMart path. There might have to be a corresponding quest to build a digital clock tower outside the JojaMart.
