Mac Character invisible after leaving cabin and invite button unresponsive (vanilla)

Hello.

The character is visible upon spawning in the cabin but after leaving the cabin, my character is invisible () and movement is restricted to just vertical movement (no lateral movement).

My friend is also on Mac and when they leave the cabin they have a similar issue, with the same lack of horizontal movement, but for them their character is stuck beneath a tree that is glitching. I was able to capture a screenshot of them in their predicament lol (). Perhaps there is an issue with layers here.

In addition, when trying to play co-op the "Invite Friends..." button (under Options) does not respond. I have to get the Invite Code and the send that code to them to let them connect to the game.

I'm on MacOS and playing vanilla. I tried finding an error log but do not see one.

MacOS Sonoma 14.5 (23F79)
Stardew Valley version 1.6.14

I tried launching some other older game saves that I never use and found that one was also affected by the same issue as my main game (and the others were not). This makes me think that my main game's save file was somehow corrupted. I tried loading the backup save for the main game but that was also affected. I suppose this means that my game save is a lost cause as I don't know what caused this or how to fix it.
