You can buy strawberry seeds from the Calico Egg Merchant on the first and last day of the Desert Festival, so you could avoid buying them from Pierre and only lose out on some of the profit on year 1, unless you unlock the bus really early.

Yeah that's true you only need Pierre now for recipes

Mixed (normal and flower), wild, as Terdin mentioned travelling cart, the new diggable ones, mystery boxes, SC chests. Also ancient fruit, I got very lucky with seeds, had two growing in the first spring.
I'm sure CC is possible, just slower. As everything in general because it's my first time playing on 25% profits. Also doing remixed bundles just for fun.

I think I'll do a challenge run where I can't buy from pierre joja would I be able to buy from the night market as one of the vendors sells seeds for each season spring summer and winter

I've done a no-buy seeds once. I allowed 1 only for regrowers and 5 for single sow crops (something like that). Everything else had to be mixed seeds or ones that come out of mystery packages and seed makers.

Would the forest farm be best for that run as it would be more common for mixed seeds and it isn't an issue that there isn't much planting space

Has anyone ever done a challenge were all they do is just talk to the villagers and give them gifts as I think it would make you know more about them as I did this for a month and still got 1to 4 hearts with some villagers and the reason why it goes to 4 is birthdays but just talking and giving gifts normal or liked you'll get 2 hearts easily after 2 to 3 weeks

I think the travelling merchant would be a big help in that run as soon as you get the seed maker wether from the skull caverns or through level she may just supply most of your crops

Currently doing that. No seeds from Pierre, Joja, Night Market or Oasis. Well I never buy from Jojamart anyway, just put that in for clarity. To put some limit on farm animals too I'm only allowing one of each to be bought, except all the ones that can be hatched from putting an egg in the incubator. Those I can only get this way.

That's a good way to balance half the time I forgery about the incubator in coop

I don't have the seed maker yet but I am buying most of the crops she sells. I don't think it could be the main supply; I'm counting more on mystery boxes and somewhat on SC chests as they give a lot of seeds at once. Also just put the crops I already grew in the seed maker to get more seeds.

Yessss I always do remixed as well. Regular ones become boring after a bit + I don't like the animal bundle.

It always shocks me that people want to boycott pierre but then shop at joja.

If you want a real challenge run that boycotts bad business practice, then do a no-pierre, no-joja run, and only buy from the gypsy lady, and use the seed maker/wild seeds for everything.

Only reason you'd need to go to pierre are for above mentioned things, and also backpack upgrades.

And to get into caroline's tea room.
Maybe play games with abi.
Give Pierre corn tortillas.

Can't think of much else.

Has ever done like only rancher challenge were you only make money from animals so you would start on meadowland then just buy more animals maybe sheep for cloth as a source but definitely pigs for truffles and truffle oil

Okay fair, but there should be consequences as well. Like, after the CC gets turned into a warehouse, there should be another arc where Pierre's gets run out of business. And after that, when there are no other competitors, Joja should raise the prices on everything by a large amount. I would be okay with that as an update
