I'm kinda stuck on a fun challenge to do in stardew valley what would you recommend

The big question would be what you find fun.

Subthemes could be focusing on one type of crop or other method to earn money. Refusing to buy seeds from your current main source.

I'm currently doing one where I only ship crops to get the achievements (and any crop-related quests) and anything else must be processed one way or the other. I'm also hoarding stuff, making an effort to hide my wealth from me, but it's getting more difficult as I'm reluctant to add more chests to hoard in. My goal is to earn 1 billion, and have fun and don't stress about it.

I'll spitball some ideas I think could be fun

I saw one person online do this; they did a save where they didn't buy anything from Pierre or Joja. They did the community center too, and they used mixed seeds a lot.

You could do a no gifts challenge, meaning you don't use gifts as a way to gain friendship, only talking to them.

You could do a challenge where you don't ever leave your farm. (I think the recommended farm type for this is the beach farm)

You could do a challenge where you don't use any production machines. (Meaning no Artisan goods money)

Lol, I think I suggested what I think a 'Pirate Challenge' would look like in Stardew.

I posted it on these forums; you could probably find it. But the subtheme idea was that your farmer needed to live as a pirate.

I recommended they use the beach farm.
They dug through the trash every single day.
They befriended nobody but Willy first.
And they raced to get to Ginger Island lol.

Obviously, you'd have to dress as a pirate too. Clearly.

My idea of fun is to not stress for once in stardew valley about anything and just focus on one thing but nothing like earn 10million gold through fishing by the end of spring

I love the pirate idea I don't wether it's me but I never really clicked with willy that I know his schedule but never gone out my way to befriend him but the pirate theme sounds like a good idea to get to know him

Would it be a good idea do a farm only about a certain skill like fishing riverside farm,foraging woodland,farming meadowland,mining hilltop farm and then combat just the wilderness farm or the standard if allow monsters at night or would or like a joja themed farm were I shop at joja and only talk to people who go to joja or work there

Have any of you done a challenge theme and how did it go

I'm still in the process of doing it. At the end of year 8 I was about 25% of the way to my goal of 1 billion. Now I'm in Winter of year 9 and have yet to do the math on how this year went. I expect my "end-of-year" sale to give at least 10 million from stacks I've removed from my hoarding chest. Since I don't have much to buy, I don't really need to sell, and only get rid of minor stuff during the year, like minerals, artifacts, and smoked fish that would only clutter up my chests.

Nothing wrong with asking the community for potential ways to spice up a game! Not to mention I love brainstorming ways to really spice up a game! <3

Lol, I love the joja idea! That would be so funny! You egg Pierre's house and marry his daughter, but only just to divorce her out of spite.

That could just be boycotting Pierre that would be perfect don't like him too much

Only things you'd need to buy from Pierre would be the crafting recipes, and unless you go for Krobus you'd need one or more bouquets.

Yeah and strawberry seeds every thing else he sells at the festivals if it turns into a perfection run

You can buy strawberry seeds from the Calico Egg Merchant on the first and last day of the Desert Festival, so you could avoid buying them from Pierre and only lose out on some of the profit on year 1, unless you unlock the bus really early.

A good challenge would be to never get any sort of barn.

Refusing to buy seeds from your current main source.

Currently doing that. No seeds from Pierre, Joja, Night Market or Oasis. Well I never buy from Jojamart anyway, just put that in for clarity. To put some limit on farm animals too I'm only allowing one of each to be bought, except all the ones that can be hatched from putting an egg in the incubator. Those I can only get this way.
