I noticed today that I cannot 'run' when going diagonally in the game, the player character only runs up, down, left, and right now. When moving diagonally with the left stick the player character only ‘walks.’ It does not matter if I start from standing still to walking diagonally, or from already running up/down/left/right to running diagonally, the player character will not run diagonally even if the joystick is pushed as far as it can go.
It was fine yesterday, and I went through all of the controller settings and everything looks correct. I am using an xbox series x controller on steam, and things like the screenshot button specific to this controller still works so this, and going through the settings, leads me to believe steam is detecting my controller correctly. (Though it could still be a steam issue, it is looking like a sdv bug.) I am also using steam’s big picture mode, and I am using a usb c cable so there is no issue with bluetooth. I have also done the basics like shutting down sdv and bringing it back up, shutting down and bringing steam back up, shutting down my computer and brining it back up, and unplugging and plugging the controller back in.
Any help with this bug would be appreciated! Note: I know that ‘auto run’ can be turned on in settings, but this is not a fix as it does not solve the fundamental problem. The way I play I really like to be able to seamlessly change between running and walking with how far I push the joystick and I find both auto run and this bug to be extremely annoying to deal with.
Version 1.6.7 on steam, Windows 10
UPDATE: Doing a steam update fixed this issue, if you are running into the same problem try updating the steam client. (It was a steam problem and not sdv after all!)
