PC [BUG] No dialogue options Shane

I can talk to all characters except Shane. The text bubble that normally shows up with the other characters doesn't show up with Shane. Is this a bug and is there a way to fix this? I can give him gifts and the heart events start. I play without mods and this is my first save.

I named my dog Shane, I didn't know there was a character named Shane in the game before I did that.

In that case, you'll need to rename your pet if you want to talk to Shane.
